All our striking options will become clear later today when we sign Fred Piquionne. The man who has been relegated with his last 3 clubs

This seems to be Gus's policy with agents, media etc. To help drive down the price/wage to the lowest possible level. Obviously some targets will fall by the way side. However, if some of his targets are still available up to the transfer deadline, he may well snap up the bargain he and we are waiting for. That pressure on keeping the price down is totally tied to the deadline date.

Unfortunately, by Gus stating after the Hull and Cardiff games that we need a striker, all strikers and their agents know we are desperate!

Our midfield and strikeforce against Donny last season

10 Sparrow (Buckley - 75' )
18 Dicker
25 LuaLua Booked (Noone - 46' )
26 Bridcutt
09 Barnes
12 Mackail-Smith

So replace Sparrow with welsh internation and ex-prem midfielder CROFTS....I think that proves my point.

Backed up by Class Wayne Bridge (brilliant last night), Bruno (again, brilliant) and Kusczzackdhak in goal, that cant POSSIBLE be a worse team. Every change has been an improved one.

as has every change at other clubs.

I'd disagree with that. Palace, derby, Brizzle City, Barnsley and Blackpool certainly haven't improved and that can be said for a few.

Maybe I should have said we have made stronger imrprovements compared to others. We were VERY good last year and have improved our defence IMMENSLEY. A prediction of relegation-struggle is, frankly, bonkers.

This needs to be held in context, we've just played two of the best sides in the league and done pretty good against both. We could have walked away with all 6 points, my fear is not us missing out on a new striker but us not having players in positions where they get a chance to score. I'd like to see us use the pace and skill of our wingers and we have arguably 3 of the best in the league, if we get 2 of Buckley/Lualua/Noone causing havoc and getting behind the opposition defence then we may see more goals being scored. Barnes or CMS could be the central focus of our attack but they need the ball in dangerous areas
