At every play off game covered on SKY, afterwards, the cameras and reporters have interviewed the home fans outside the ground as they are leaving.
I would suggest that after the game we look for the cameramen and reporters and make sure they get the message about Falmer.

Any thoughts?

What amazes me is that there are people who seem to imagine that the Falmer For All team haven't given any thought to the possibility that a live Sky broadcast might just be an opportunity to promote the Falmer message a teensy weensy bit.

How about just turning up and doing what Dick Knight, Martin Perry, Mark McGhee and Paul Samrah ask us to do?

Fine, I will keep my mouth shut, and await orders!!

And who is suggesting that the FFA team hasn't given it any thought?

Are those not part of the FFA team not allowed to make suggestions, however stupid they may be?

Anyone that goes on the pitch knows that they are risking the Falmer decision. It is illegal to enter the field of play. Anyone doing it is a moron and deserves to get chucked out.

A bit harsh, I accept. But we need to do everything by the book where Falmer is concerned. let's not give the NIMBYs any further ammo.

No chance a pitch invasion is inevitable if we go through tonite and there has been no bad publicity about fans doing this e.g bristol and huddersfield, so imho your talking bollocks.

On the terraces!!
i have seen EVERY team invade the pitch so far in playoff (not sure on west ham) - but for some reason, no-one has got in trouble and no-one has said a bad word against it in the press/commentators etc??

i have a feeling that people will try to go on IF we win as that seems to be the norm in the playoffs - however - we are quite a way from the pitch and the stewards may try to hold us back!

Question:

Did we invade the pitch when we won the 3rd and 2nd div titles?

If not...then why tonight? Theres no need for it and anyone who does so will deserve a slap!

Actually if you'd read all the posts you'd realise that he's not 'talking bollocks'. We're not talking about a pitch invasion at the end of the game (which as you say is probably inevitable) but the idea of a formal sit-down protest in the center circle.

I think its a baaaaaaaad idea - and if you do it I will be angry - so there!! Little sheep...

I can't see how an organized excursion to the centre of the pitch can turn into anything other than an invasion.... not all of our fans read NSC....

As Crabbers points out it is not inevitable and didn't happen before. We are making the effort to make ourselves high profile so more than likely those who are not behind us will use any chance we give them against us. Or maybe I am just talking more bollocks.

I'm the last person to suggest that we should leave the whole of the campaign to the FFA team. Some of the very best ideas have come straight from NSC - National Falmer Day, Flowers for Prescott, the "Grimsby Day" event in Falmer, to name but three.

As to the specific question "who is suggesting that the FFA team hasn't given it any thought?", my original comment was (I regret to say) aimed at Richie Morris (who has spent weeks inventing ideas of his own - like flying a banner off Blackpool Tower - that usually prove to be neither sensible nor practical).

The success of any publicity stunt depends on good forward planning. The FFA team has several stunts planned for this evening. Everyone, from Dick Knight downwards, will have a part to play - including the players. All I am saying is that it is best that we let these run, without the worry of distractions like an unplanned, Falmer related pitch invasion.

I have no idea whether the Club will be discouraging a post-match stroll onto the pitch - they might even be happy to see one. All I'm suggesting is that we play it by ear. What I am certain about is that it makes no sense to try and organise the stunt that Richie started this thread with - in the time available and with no opportunity to organise it properly, let alone discuss it with the Club or FFA beforehand.

no soton, not bollox - valid arguments, but there where "pitch invasion" at the end of both championships seasons, i dont think the club got into trouble....

Let's all see what happens tonight, if we win - we can celebrate! But I think a few people will make a dash for the pitch after all the scenes on TV over last few nights.....

SEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAGUULLS!!
