Funny how one game in which we kept a clean sheet in has resulted in more people deciding to vote for Lynch/Elphick ahead of Hawkins...

I think it's more to do with the fact that all the Lynch fans believe that Lynch has masses of potential. I think the rumours of him wanting a move away due to lack of first team games early on this season has got some fans worried and wanting him to start.
I don't think that Hawkins should be dropped because he has barely put a foot wrong. But in the mean time losing Lynch would be a huge blow

Quite simply the club's two brightest prospects in the last decade.
Was it Stoke who made a bid of Lynch before? Stoke who are now in the Premiership?
What I don't understand is the anti-Lynch brigade point to him making mistakes. Now not only does EVERY single League One defender cock up occasionally but they also IGNORE the fact that in four games so far Hawkins has given away a late penalty and nearly gifted Southend a goal with the sort of bad backpass which El Abd or Lynch would have been slated for.
Lynch and Elphick. Superb PARTNERSHIP at the back with the right blend of muscle, class, pace and strength.
I cannot think of a single reason why Lynch should not be playing above Hawkins.

2 reasons the way I see it:
1. Hawkins is more dominanat in the air than Lynch
2. Far more experience.
By the way I am not anti-Lynch. Love him as a player just think that it would be wrong to drop Hawkins at the moment.

He is hardly an old-stager of the Guy Butters mould though is he? His experience in England is pretty limited for someone of his age.
Also, for those people who say Hawkins and Elphick are the men with the shirts should cast their minds back to the tail end of last season when Elphick and Lynch were performing heroically at the back.
I am not saying I am anti-Hawkins. Just that it seems quite double-standards to criticise Lynch for his lack of concentration and ignore mistakes from Hawkins.
Hawkins is decent back up but Lynch and Elphick are class and could develop into the club's best ever partnership.

from what i've seen of hawkins he is not all that dominant in the air

I made a point of watching Hawkins closely against Bristol. He won a bit granted but got caught the wrong side of his attacker on a few occasions and was hardly the dominant force people on here would have us believe.
Not terrible by any means but people are going a bit over the top.
Toward the end of the game Hawkins and Elphick seemed to swap jobs and it was Elphick commanding and taking the first ball.
That said, an area of Hawkins game I was impressed with and certainly not expecting, was his ability to get a foot in when tracking his forward.

Have only been to away games so far (plus the home friendlies) but from what I have seen he is, imo, more dominant in the air than Lynch.
However I don't really see why being pro one player makes you anti another. I think all 3 players are excellent centre backs for this division.
