If you can't make her cum, that's when you tickle her bum with said stick of celery. SIMPLES

I know chelsea have famously always done it. Maybe its a general copied football tradition never to be understood........a bit like chris kamara or jimmy hill.

I thought we started it and it came from a time when virtually everything was considered an offensive weapon and you were barred from taking such items into a ground but celery/ Well, who could you hurt with that?

That's my recollection too - but in the end it was also banned wasn't it?

Wasn't there a Celery Liberation Army or CL Front or something too?

haha it was me and my mates brought all the celery into the ground got loads of the stuff for £2. Just hid it at bottom of our bags on arrival and stewards just asked what was in our bag and bobs your uncle! certainly added to the atmosphere!

After they banned celery we started bringing pepperami (salami) into grounds. I can remember an evening game at Pompey when hundreds of stickes of salami were chucked about the terrace and at the stewards.

I remember when alcohol was banned in grounds going to an England v Scotland game at Wembley and loads of jocks eating oranges they had impregnated with vodka.

On the celery I always thought that it was Chelsea who started it the same as they did throwing bananas at Keith Dublin.

I remember Keith Dublin getting some dreadful stick playing for us at Stanford Bridge. I was sitting in the chelsea stand (went with a chelsea supporter) and I can say that I have never heard abuse like it. Even little kids were pouring opprobrium onto him
