I think a tribunal could be the best result for us. If they think hes good like everyone outside Brighton seems to have been conned into thinking then we could get a very tidy sum, especially if hes going to a Prem club.

Tribunal would be the worst scenario. They take into account how much he is currently earning, which at present will be sod all as this is his first pro contract and also the number of appearances and even at the end of this season it will best case be around 65 in all. Even with the U21 cap were would be lucky to get much more than 150k up front.

This is what happened when John Robinson went to Charlton.

That was 15 years ago!!!!!

I think wed do much better than that, the tribunal is designed to stop youngsters getting poached and take intio account the selling clubs financial situation.

We pulled out of the Steve Hunt deal becasue Coppell thought wed have to cough up more than £100k!

As someone who has not had a chance to get to any games yet this season (forest will be my first), can someone, anyone explain why if Harding is so bad (and certainly he was responsible for a few goals at the beginning of the season), why does McGhee keep selecting him over Kerry Mayo, most recently at gillingham?

Even if we sold him, surely we would have to buy another left back to replace him. Why not keep him. He's young and will no doubt improve with more games at this level, and under the watchful eyes of BB and MM.

BBC Sport confirms that the Everton Chairman will make £30m Million available to Moyes in January. So I reckon we will be offered £25 million for Harding and they still have £5 million to play with.

Everyone's a winner :lolol:

Good work Dan for attracting attention from the prem.

From 45 mins of U21 on the TV the prospect of getting a promising young left back from a club desperate for cash sounds plausible.

However, if Moyes saw a full 90 mins live I don't think he'd be so enthusiastic. I really can't imagine DH playing premiership football at the moment.

Plenty of potential but we're not talking Jerome Defoe style U21 player are we?

Structured deal worth 100K up front and another 100-150 based on first team games and a season long loan back to us to get some 1st team experience would be the most I could envisage at the moment.

If it gets to the end of the season, am I right in thinking he can't go on a free as he is under 23?

From the Gruaniad rumours page;

Tuesday's Rumours

Everton boss David Moyes will be going about his daily business with a similar spring in his step this morning, because chairman Bill Kenwright, aka the cheeriest man in football, has been doing some creative accounting and has somehow come up with a stonking great £29m in transfer funds! That's enough to buy young Wayne back, not that the Toffees look like they need him at the moment.

With Moyes suddenly looking like a Fantasy Football manager at the start of the season, you'd think the dour Scotsman would be keen to start tapping up mysterious, expensive but apparently brilliant foreigner-types before you can say: "Juan Sebastian Veron", but no...

The news has apparently not reached Dave, who is currently looking at Brighton's England under-21 left back Dan Harding, who might be ready to leave the Seagulls during the January transfer window
