Worthing
For the past year or so some *astard has taken great delight in scratching and keying my car which is parked on the road outside of my house. After around 6 separate incidents, it all went quiet for a few months, so I had the car partially resprayed via an insurance claim which cost the insurance company £1200.

All was ok..ish for a while, and it started again culminating in a 3 side keying about 6 weeks back which did around a grands worth of damage. Wondering whether it was the car rather than me being targeted I got rid of the car which was a rather nice BMW, at quite a substantial loss I might add, and purchased something older and ordinary.

Within 2 weeks the new car, which incidentally does not have any Albion stickers on it, had a small scratch, followed a couple of weeks later by about £500 worth of keying.

I have reported it several times to the Police, who continue to say that without evidence there is nothing that they can do, and have suggested that I look at buying CCTV with a view to catching the culprit. By the way, I'm the only one in the road whose car has been damaged, so clearly I am being targeted.

Can anyone point me at/recommend a CCTV system, as there are loads out there and I don't have a clue where to start? As the damage is always at night, I will need one with good night vision, with the capability of filming up to about 50 yards. Or is there some kind of "in car" CCTV that might work?

Grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction, as I really want to find out who is doing this and "politely discourage" them from doing it again!

Thanks

Dunno about specific systems but there is a shop in Brunswick Road in Shoreham that specialises in home security and CCTV equipment. Might be worth having a chat with them (sorry but i don't know the name).

Sounds like someone has got it in for you bro!

Screw the CCTV
Just wrap this lot around your car and house and see what you find in the morning.

Had the same problem,my car has been targetted 5 times, but others in the street have had a couple attacks as well...the police caught the shite the last time as he had smashed a window on a car but cut himself leaving his DNA all over the car,he is due in court soon...(Probably get told he is a naughty boy, slap on the wrist and given a pound out of the poor box)...On the police follow up I said I was going to get a CCTV rigged up but was told that I could not do that as I would be filming the public on the pavement....oh yeah! just watch this space.....

Try leaving a light on in your house when u go to bed with the curtain slightly open to warn them off or leave a not on your car saying that the police are onto the person who is doing it as they have got finger prints from the car (it might scare them off)

I don't believe there's any law against filming the public in public, despite what the police might say, though I stand to be corrected.

CCtv in Shops, Facebook, the cameras Insurance Companies put in cars and trucks and loads more examples. Some coppers making up his own rules!
