Anyone know whether it's reopened?
Herr van der WankalotI believe the delay is due to their plans for the garden.
They wanted to ake the garden area bigger, probably due to the smoking ban. I think the plans upset a lot of the locals as it is a very residential area and they were none too happy about a racket being made outside, potentially after midnight.
I doubt it will reopen until there is an agreement between all parties.

That is why old gits like me find Brighton so boring and genteel nowadays. The Caxton was a dreadful pub in the late 60s where I could sometimes be found. The "residents" never complained when people like me threw a technicolour yawn in their scruffy little gardens. Charringtons Best Bitter deserved no better! Puking was accepted as part of the colour of living in central Brighton.
What a dreary world we now live in!
