Adding in the self serve units plus a few mobile bars in the WSU seems to have made it more efficient to actually get a pint in the WSU.
Yep. Its not bad now. And for us non drinkers it's opened up the tea queue.

I'm honestly amazed anyone eats food at the stadium. It's absolute slurry. Even the smell of it turns my stomach. Microwaved meat served by oily 16y year olds

I share your pain. Could eat them daily and never get bored.

Piglets did a veggie breakfast pie when we were away at spurs in 2019. It has never made it to the amex which is a huge shame
My workplace had Piglets pies being served in the canteen this week which included a Beef Brisket pie which was very nice but not one that has been seen at the Amex to the best of my knowledge

Anyone used the West Stand Tap? The place where they guess what you’ve bought by watching you on avatar camera…

And does it have the Amex discount? I wanted to check that worked before trying it out this Sunday.

Tried to use it yesterday, as the prematch blurb had said it recognises and automatically applies the Amex discount now. Wasn’t working for most people (gates didn’t open) and eventually they gave up and closed it.

Is this in WSL? Can't say I've noticed it, we're right up in WLI so I gather it's further down if it is.

Used it several times. Limited choice, but quick and easy and handy carriers on the way out to save juggling your pies and drinks. No idea about the discount. Mind you, only used it once for a coke this season.

Have to accept that all the time games are sold out and all food on offer is sold out club have no concern about transport issues, ticket prices or quality of food available. Now if you were able to prove increasing quality of food would increase clubs income that would be a different matter.
I’m not as cynical as that. If all the food is sold out midway through the game it shows that there’s a market for it, and is an incentive for the club to offer more food and a wider range. I’d be surprised if they weren’t working on this.

Regarding transport the club is powerless so instead they’ve come up with another angle —provide a fan zone to stagger the exit of fans and simultaneously rack up the revenue.

I bought a couple of pies yesterday at the Wolves game. Just as I was about to pay I asked the bloke if it would automatically apply the discount once it recognised the Amex card and he said no. He cancelled the transaction and did it again. So make sure you tell them in advance.

How does the Amex compare to the offerings at other clubs though? I agree it's poor, but I avoid the "food" offerings at away games like the plague.
The kiosk at Villa wouldnt have looked out of place in downtown Mogadishu.
The chuck wagons outside are the best option by far which says a lot.
I had some very nice jerk chicken at Villa away a couple of years ago, it was cooked at the back of a pub which you had to pay to get into.

Asked for a bottle of water Wednesday night, and the kiosk worker couldn’t open the bottle top. She then used HER MOUTH to undo the bottle and tried to give it to me. Gross.

According to Mrs EP the wine is atrocious too.
If it’s the same stuff they sold when I used to go, it’s like vinegar🤮
I used to buy sandwiches from M&S at Brighton station and add a bottle of “ blackcurrant“ or “peach water” pre-prepared at home😉 to take in.
Tell Mrs EP to use a couple of spare bottle tops as nipple protectors for replacements once inside and she’ll be all good!

West is BEST
It’s the same in every venue the UK over.

Go to a show at the BC, whether it’s David Essex or Paw Patrol.. £15 a program, £4 for a bottle of water.

I saw Tim Peake at the Dome a couple of Sundays ago. £3.50 for the tiniest tub of ice cream I have ever seen.

This is all on top of the £40 + tickets people are shelling out.

Nothing is cheap anymore. Nothing is sold for what it’s worth. And to make it worse the packaging and soon to be forgotten about souvenirs from these things are all destined for landfill.

The UK is a bloody rip off.

It’s why, even though I get mocked, I long for the Withdean days in some ways.

£15 potg, £2 program, £2 chicken pie.

I rarely bother to go to matches anymore. I find the whole premier league, treat em as customers, take their money, such a turn off.

As a resident of the WSU and someone who doesn't visit the East Lower often, I was amazed at the array of choice.

I saw cheesy chips, pizza and massive buckets of popcorn all being sold, and enjoyed. It was quite a revelation.

Also good to see you too, sir!
For me we have the view in WSU but definitely poor relations on food options. The sweet trolley particularly the jelly Teddys have never returned. Barber out!

Food isn't the club, it's Sodexo If it's sold out it's because the Sodexo stand manager is under a LOT of pressure not to have any wastage at the end of their shift and have to guess how much to cook. Sodexo seem to prefer to slightly under cater so they don't lose money with food thrown away at the end of the shift rather than over cater and make more sales. The stand manager is just a random that is on a zero hours contract and isn't particularly well versed in their role usually.

*edited as got the contractor wrong, d’oh”
