They seem to have their shit together in the NS, I always go for a pint and sausage roll. The guy next to me loves the burgers, he eats two during every 2nd half. The smell of them has always put me off, so I've never had one.

You can trace the slow slide into catering shitness to the day Sodexo won the contract.
In the first few seasons (Championship) the standard of food was excellent. Burgers included luttece and fresh tomatoes!! The burger my son got on Saturday would have been unacceptable at a village fete for £3. The only product which is remotely as good as it originally was is the pie, because guess what, it's got FA to do with Sondexo.
Due to this I now normally do everything I can to avoid buying food at the Amex, which is why I HATE the Sat 5.30 slot so much, leave home at 4 and home about 8.30 means it's near impossible to not get food during this time for the kids. Now made 100% worse by the outside food stands gone.
Please God Sondexo don't get the contract for the Fan Zone but something tells me that they will :(
Sodexo was awarded the contract in the second season at the Amex.

They do all of the hospitality / food / drink concessions at the stadium and the training ground.

There was an even worse caterer in between …. Azure. One of PB’s first moves was get to get rid.

I always stick to the tried n trusted pies. Hotdogs and burgers at stadia are often dry rubbish heavy on cheap bread, low on filling eg Molyneux, Anfield. Wembley’s are lovely, a concession I think, but are expensive.

You seem to be suffering from a rather selective memory. Very soon after the Amex first opened it's doors back in 2011, the club sacked two catering providers within what seemed like months, simply because they didn't come up to scratch, since then Sodexo have had the gig, and although very far from perfect, l don't think that any new provider would do very much better.

I agree re the pies though, always excellent over the years, l just love Piglet's.

Always get cheesy chips from the stand outside. Reasonable value by football ground standards, food is always hot and as fresh as you'd expect for a chippy, and the staff don't rotate seemingly every game. Not perfect, but it's good, a decent portion and beyond generally having a large queue far better than the concourse. I mean at least their queue moves at a decent rate, the ones at WSU seem to take forever to get through

That's so 2022.

Agree with all of this as a WSL fan. Honestly spent 30 mins before KO on Saturday as a 1st aider. Assisting people asking trying to find some milk sachets. Really.

Took my nephew to the game on Saturday. Decided to go with a pre match burger in the ESL. Nephews had no bread bun on top, just a burger resting on the bottom half of a bun. My cheeseburger was stone cold, not even luke warm. Cheese was as rigid as the second it came out the fridge. Awful.

Due to some disappointingly poor planning on my part, I arrived in the WSU around 4.45 hankering for some scoff. Anything. The cheeseburgers were sold out - natch - so I opted for a hot dog. Which was ok-ish in itself (soft bun, quite hot, congealed eyelids, snout and general offal scraped off an abbatoir floor somewhere in Romford). But try finding some KETCHUP. I like a line of mustard, AND a line of ketchup on my processed mashed pig sandwich. But no. Despite a grand tour of the WSU condiment outlets, all I was allowed was the mustard. I'd have had more joy finding a banking receipt in a Turkish barbers.

I mean - how HARD can it be to supply some ketchup sachets for the punters ? Who is the benny c*nt sitting in front of an Excel spreadsheet at Sodexo HQ deciding "yeah, 5,000 mustards and 25 ketchups this weekend down there. Noice"

You've got ONE JOB, you useless f*cking SPANNERS.

Same idiot that ordered 10,000 vegan KitKats :lolol:
Oh my life, don't even go there. My sister wanted a Mars bar a few weeks back, but was instead offered one of those as a token replacement. Green wrapper, the works. She literally thought they were joking, as did I. I couldn't believe it until I clapped eyes on them. Kinell.

The last few matches the WSL kiosk has had tea with and without milk as a choice......as usualIy asked for a tea with milk and was told that 'milk is with the condiments'..........fair enough, small plastic sachet better than the powdered stuff already in the cup I thought............but the first 3 condiment dumps I visited didn't have any milk. Almost ended up in the South Stand before I found some. Having been unable to get the advertised fish sarnie OR my usual sausage roll as both had sold out I was by this stage OUTRAGED.

You have my sympathy.

I reckon there's currently more chance of getting some milk and ketchup in Rafah than there is in the WSU. We could be needing aid drops at this rate.

I’m sure you mentioned the vegan KitKats on a previous thread about the catering. I did a double take a few matches back when I spotted boxes and boxes of unopened green KitKats when I wanted some chocolate, nothing else was available in the WSU.

We should check what they’ve had on the menu this season; could explain a lot.

Having condiment sections is great but each till should have a box of sauces, come on this isn’t complicated, even Ronald McDonald and the Colonel have this figured out.
