Completely agree, I used to enjoy my couple of pre-match pints of Kronenberg last season, there's no way I'm going to drink dishwater Fosters, so the club can do one as far as I'm concerned. And I agree about the pies, novelty has worn off for me as well. And watch out all you Harveys lovers, what's the betting they replace it with John Smiths before long. From now on I will be drinking at a pub and probably getting something to eat there as well, my gain, the clubs loss. The club really seem to think they can chuck anything at us and we'll buy it, well I for one won't.

What, with Harvey's having a five-year contract to supply the Amex?

Yeah, the novelty of excellent pies has worn off for me too - I'm pissed off to the back teeth that Piglet's Pantry have a five-year deal too. I wanted shit pies this season.

It's about having reasonable alternatives to pies as the current ones (burgers/hot dogs) are nothing to shout about. And I'm very happy for you that you've got Harveys for the next five years, not much good if you're not a real ale drinker and hate Fosters though is it. As I said, clubs loss in the end not mine.

You do seem to take this all rather personally.

Can't say I'm too fussed about which beer I drink and, as it will usually only be twice a month, there are enough choices to rotate the pies but I think you can have the Shit ones to yourself TLO

It is the club's loss - you're spot on.

However... there does seem to be an element of 'you don't know what you've got til it's gone...' In other words, the 'use it or lose it' policy (which was threatened with Harvey's) looks like it's kicked in with Kronenbourg. Azure, I'm told, were fed up with sustaining losses on pouring away so much unsold Kronie that they've pulled it.

Personally, I'd be prepared to pay a few extra schekels for a pint of Kozel in the concourses.

If anyone REALLY wants it back, I guess the thing to do is ask Elliott at Azure.

This is all very promising. Less people in the queue means me and my pals can drink more. Lovely.

Yep. Same for me. I'd far rather pay 30p more if it means no queue*

*Obviously it won't happen though, because for all the hot air on here, the huge majority of people are not going to change their habits over 30 pence.

Quite right I won't change my habits over 30 pence, but I will due to a lack of choice, which appears to be getting worse.

Was anyone told 'Use it or lose it' as far as Kronenborg was concerned?

I certainly wasn't aware of that statement.

As far as pouring it away, I find that really hard to believe, seeing as after several games I was told (WSU) thatthey had sold out.

Seems to me that Azure are simply incapable and/or unable to handle more than one type of Lager.

Shame, but as I've said before, the Club's loss will be a local pub's gain.

I would have given up trying to get served half an hour before kick off or at halftime if it was'nt for the single 'Harveys' pumps dotted around. You could get served pretty quick at these outlets. I'm only bothered about the TIME it takes to be served - less so about the price. Jeez-----just realised I sound like an alcoholic..........

The issue with throwing beer away would be on any opened barrels older than 3-5 days, which I believe is their shelf life. Are Azzure saying that after a game they have way more barrels of Kronenbourg left open compared to Foster's? I very much doubt it...

I will not be going to the ground between 1.5-2 hours prior to the game on a weekend anymore, I will go to a local pub. They will be losing my 3-4 pints plus my kids coke. If they are offering Kronenbourg in the ES Brasserie, then I will go here after the match if I feel like it. There does seem to be a number of people pissied off at the price rise (not me) and the limited drinks available for purchase. So, I hope that it hits the club and/or Azure hard enough between now and Xmas that they will have to bring back Kronenbourg or another 5% beer.

It's the lack of choice, rather than the price rise that (for me personally) is more of an issue.

Fair enough.

I think that for every person planning to boycott, who's money will be lost, similar figures will be recouped from people like me, who spent next to nothing last season, because I simply couldn't be bothered to queue. If there's no (or very short) queues, they can have a tenner from me every match.

I'm going to treat myself to a pie for my very first league game on Saturday, don't drink anymore so I will have to watch others enjoying my favourite Harvey's. Well actually I was more a King and Barnes man to be honest.

I just dont believe that anybody can REALLY tell the difference between a Fosters and a Kronenbourg poured from a football stadium draft tap. And as has been said if people do boycott it just means that the 20% of people that usually queue but never actually get anything becuase they wait so long and the service is so poor will get to spend their money instead.

Piglets do seem receptive to new ideas. Have you approached them about this filling?

Which bit of my post said the pies were shit? My point being the choice is pies only, because the other stuff on offer is crap. I know some say "why do you have to eat at football?" The answer being that my lad plays on a Saturday so it's a pie for lunch and I work so it's a pie for dinner on evening games. Gets a bit monotonous. I could bring my own stuff I suppose, but that doesn't help the clubs coffers much, especially if a few thousand others started doing the same thing. It's just a lazy approach to match day catering by the club IMHO. Seems a shame to spoil what is an excellent match day experience in every other way.
