James Taylor is outstandingly mediocre. One great song (Fire and rain) and loads of instantly forgettable tracks does not a hero make. I'd opt for Neil Young. He does blow hot and cold though. I saw him play the Greendale album at the Hammersmith Odeon once and it was dreadful. He then did a 30 minute greatest hits selection that was completely & utterly sublime. I saw Cat Stevens / Yusuf at Shepherds Bush Empire about four years ago. He was completely and utterly superb, but the venues he plays are too big. O2 etc.
