I'd say they were similar, with Casper being the more composed with the ball at his feet.

The lowest priority of a goal keeper. I don't know why people bring this up in Casper's defence. Your job is to stop the ball going into our goal, don't worry about splitting their defence with a through ball or doing step overs, just hoof the fucker. He should be more concerned with his hands!

Lots of mistakes with defensive positions of players as well. Surely it doesn't take a genius to figure out that attacking players like to hang out on the edge of the area for loose balls?

I thought he was awful and the policy of playing second string goalkeepers in cup games cost us a lucrative replay. His punch for the third goal was just laughable. Stay on your line or win it convincingly. 24,000 Brighton fans paid circa £30 to see a first team eleven weakened by one bollocks selection that cost the club and our support that big day out.

As a keeper when I was playing footie watching Ankergren makes me cringe. He's distribution is the best we have at the club overall but his commanding of the area is schoolboy level at best. Should have been out far quicker for their second goal to narrow the angle and he needs to learn to punch the ball instead of slapping it.

All this to one side, he did make a couple of cracking saves. The problem is the PIG would have made the saves and possibly more without the f*** ups.

About sums it up for me. I was worried as soon as I saw he was to start today, because neither him nor Brez inspire any confidence as part of our team at this level anymore. Granted he made some good saves throughout the match, but that punch for the third goal was woeful, and he left himself in no mans land by going for it and not clearing the ball enough. Second goal he could possibly have come out quicker to close Giroud down, and as others have said, whilst the first goal was a great strike that very few keepers would get too, I think PIG is one of those that could have reached it.

I won't blame him entirely for the defeat because Arsenal created numerous good chances, some they took and some they didn't . However I do believe had Kuszczak played today we'd be in the pot for Round 5, whether it be needing to win a replay to get there or not.

I fail to see how it was a 'magnificent day'. We played well and did ourselves proud, but I honestly think that we'd have earned a replay with Tom in goal. That would have been magnificent.

I think we deserved a draw today, not a win, but I would argue that Ankergren did cost us at least one goal today, physically or mentally. If I was in that back four, I'd be nervous with him behind me. Is he going to come out, will he stay on his line, will he call it? I don't think he knows.

Well, I've just watched the highlights before commenting and maybe you could pin a bit of the blame for the third goal on Casper but the first two - not at all.

Thought the first goal he was positioned wrong and to far of his line, maybe wrong, but thought Tomasz wouldn't have been beaten so easy from there. Third goal was a pathetic effort of a punch, his fist was totally wrong, even on the radio when I got back to the car Johnny Byrne commented on it.

This all day AND think about the effect on up and coming young foreigners in say the Spanish or dare I say Dutch league? If they watched the game they'd be impressed I'm sure, but if we'd played Koosh and either won (amazeballs) or more likely drawn with a replay to come at Arsenal..... don't you think they'd be telling their club they want to come here? Especially if say we'd made a couple of bids already and had a key injury at the position the lad plays?

Saved what... he stayed glued to his line, should have come out for the second goal.... and was totally in the wrong position for the two free kicks that should have been goals.

That was unusual from PIG to make that mistake against Brum. Ankers makes them all the time and also is TERRIBLE at commanding his area every game.

Every player in every match makes some mistakes.

We had 5 shots, but only 3 were on target, and only two succeeded, but 66% became goals. Arguably, Arsenal were worse - 12 shots with only 6 on target, and only 50% of these became goals!

Casper made 5 saves, compared to one by Szczesny - what mistakes made by our defense put him at such risk?

Every Albion player played his socks off, playing Gus's way.
