Was it just me seeing things? Or did it seem like Casper didn't even attempt to get to either of chopras goals today?? At least make it look like your trying!

Probably saw no point in destroying his hip replacements.

In my opinion his confidence has gone, you might as well put me in goal.

I think you are right......well apart from the last bit although not seen you play!

He appears to get himself in poor positions, by that I mean unable to react to shots and we have seen this a lot in the last 7 days.

My Cousin is a huge Leeds fan and couldn't believe that we didn't sign another keeper in the summer.

Good post. Kuyt's and Zaha's goals highlight this somewhat.

He has made some good saves too but the goal tally against us is rising and with no wins in the last five games (in all competitions) it is becoming a deep concern.

Whilst I haven't seen any of Ipswich's goals today and don't think the recent bad results are Casper's fault, I noticed this at the Liverpool game. Shots that come across his body, or come at any kind of pace, he just doesn't move. It's like watching a rabbit caught in headlights. I don't think he should be replaced, but this is a very worrying flaw in his game. Opposition midfields/attackers will be able to just pepper the goal and see if he'll dive.

Easy to criticise a keeper but sadly CA is suspect at this level. Seems at least four recent goals he has not even moved but looks like he is wearing concrete boots

Looking on SSN tonight the two Chopra goals looked pretty identical and CA made no attempt to stop them

Having seen PBs abject display at Stoke in the Cup I was really amazed we did not go for one new keeper in the close season

I think its you. Not seeing things, but just not understanding them.

Whilst I agree Casper hasn't been in dazzling form for the past couple of games or so, if a defender backs off a striker in or around the edge of the box to the extent our have been doing lately, and allows them a free shot into the corner, then they should beat the keeper every time. The balls past him, before he has a chance to react.

As I said, whilst he's not in dazzling form, I think you need to look at the defending before you blame the keeper at the moment

Seriously, some of the critism of Ankergren is getting a little retarded.

Do you think he's so shit he just stands there and lets them in. Do you think we have a keeper who hasn't learnt how to dive.........

Honestly, engage your brain before you let your fingers loose on a keyboard

The Championship.
He does have a line of defence in front of him who can close down to stop the shots on goal? Some shots you just cannot move for as you know you're beaten, im a keeper so will defend him as much as possible although he does flap a bit...

Having watched the goals several times on the FLS, i am inclined to agree with this. Not sure he could be blamed for any of them really.

Casper gets by on positioning generally, he is not agile and has little/no spring when he dives.

Great save from Chopra in first half, but, he was well positiioned and the shot was effectively at him. 1st goal I think he could've got closer to had he dived, third he had no chance as it came from behind Calde, who had tried to close Chopra down.

Exactly. We're letting teams get shots away far too easily. One characteristic of our play under Gus previously has been how many bodies we get back when we're not in possession. Look at those battling wins last season where the opponent would be confronted by the midfield screening the defence and people throwing themselves in to block shots. Now we only seem to have Bridcutt back helping out and the defenders are just standing off. Fatal at this higher level against PL pedigree players who will score with a free shot more often than not.

I can't see that it's a change in approach. More likely that we're just getting worked so much harder that the legs won't allow the same high energy performances.

Putting the poor run in perspective, the quickfire Liverpool and Leeds games saw huge efforts - massively draining - which may help explain why we completely ran out of steam against Palace.

Yesterday, we were up against a good side who will be among the top six contenders for sure now they've sorted out their teething troubles. Couple that with a dip in confidence and the outcome was predictable.

Glad we've got 2 weeks to find some solutions. A couple of clean sheets and we'll be back in business.
