Greer fine for Saturday and then we have an international break in which time I think El-Abd will be back. Would suit MK getting him on loan now too as window about to shut and they'd have to wait for loan window to open I think, and even, thats only for short loans I think. So would be 6 months if done now.

Don't think we should be lending our talent out at the moment, injuries are starting to appear in the squad, so I think we should currently keep all our players.

Would love to see Caskey make the team with the current squad. Bridcutt, Caskey, Navarro, Harley across the middle, wow, I think I've just wet myself thinking about that midfield!!

I would prefer Cook to stay as I am sure at some point he will play in the league

Hopefully, in return they'll let us have Baldock on the cheap.

Depends on the nature of the loan deal. Getting games for MK Dons is clearly going to develop them much more effectively than messing about in the Reserves, even given the odd extra development squad game. And with the reduced subs bench, it's hard to see JFC getting much of a look-in with the assortment of midfield riches we're assembling, short of a string of injuries.

IF true, suggests to me that Gus has got a central defender signing up his sleeve before the end of the transfer window. Either that or Bomber is definitely going to be available after the international break ...

I'm probably alone in thinking that it's nearly time to ease the hatred of MK Dons now that Wimbledon are back where they belong.

If you speak to most MK Dons fans they are simply football fans supporting their local team.

Anyway, good move for our youngsters to a good footballing side.

Never time to ease off MK Dons - they're a disgraceful plastic club that simply should not exist. They may be local fans supporting their local team but they never bothered turning out for Milton Keynes City (or Luton, Northampton or whatever the nearest league club was). Only when a club on their doorstep bought a place in the league did they bother to show up. I'm sometimes suprised at how angry I still get about this topic. Sorry, I know the thread's not about this really.

Absolutely, fundamentally, this.

They both seem desperate for first team football and their chances in our first team are going to be limited for a wee while.

Good way to keep two of OUR - yes OUR - up and coming players positive and happy in my opinion - and going together means that they should settle in OK, if that doesn't sound too gay.

For God's sake, anywhere but the scabby plastics. That hurts coming from scabby MK.
Is there any justice ?

Ideal place for them on loan as long as they get to play and as long as we break our duck on (league*) loans under Gus and bring them back into the fold...............................

McNulty, Tunnicliffe, Dickinson, Foster, Holroyd, Whing
all went out on loan to league clubs, and left.

* the exception, Cook, to non-league Mansfield

edit: and I like the idea of them going as a pair - Cook has been out before and is that bit older but Caskey is very young, doesn't drive, and could get very lonely and isolated moving away from home for the first time. If it happens this way it will be good management

That list of players sent out on loan shows just how far we have come under Gus in a very short period of time. Its only two years ago (Holroyd aside) that they were all first team players and Whing had just won player of the season!

The club can send the Cook from the 1901 Club kitchen to Milton Keynes. He can take his crap Chinese buffet with him as well.

Whatever feelings are about MK Dons, I do think that they are probably the best option for us to loan players out. They were one of the only teams we played last year that played a similar passing game to us, and managed to beat us at it too. Decent manager as well.

I also think that they are a very good shout for promotion.

Not true, I met some old boys at MK who used to go to Luton, which makes them even worse IMHO.

I think it's a good move for them, and I'm sure Gus will be VERY careful about who, where and how players are loaned out. Going as a pair is a good move as well as their only young. Having said that JFC was out in Mexico with the under 16s this summer so will be used to being off to new football surroundings anyhow. I'd imagine it was a fantastic experience for him!
