absolutely fab. 9 out of 10. I did get a little confused at the end though.

p.s the theme song and the images at the start were absolutely quality.

Big improvement from Die Another Day. A lot less gadgety.

Never watched a Bond film in my life, never intend to, it's just not my sort of thing. I say 0 out of 10:nono:

Youre life must be full of interesting and varied experiences if you make judgements based on no experience whatsoever.

You sound like a 5 years old to be honest.

Saw it yesterday and being a massive Bond fan up until Die Another Day which was possibly one of the worst films of all time), I have to say well done to the producers who have finally bought Bond back to where it should be.

A much more realistic film, no invisible bloody cars, a decent plot (much to do with the fact that it was a Fleming novel), agree it was maybe 20 mins too long, some of the casino scenes were a little tedious, but the action sequences more than made up for it. Loved the airport chase and the opening building site scene was spectacular.

Craig brings a new vigour to the character not seen since Licence To Kill (Dalton) and I think he was in the end a far better choice than Clive Owen (alothoug initially I was a sceptic).

Le Chiffre was a realistic adversary and quite a menacing character, the tortue scene would have had every bloke in the cinema wincing.

On the whole a very very good film that I am sure will do well at the Box Office, lets just hope that with no more Fleming novels left that they can write a decent follow up for Craig as they didnt really manage that with any of the Brosnan films.

My assumption is that having started at the very beginning, they will just continue to re-make them all, 40 years on and all that

I'm going to see it in about an hour. Cant wait. Massive fan of Goldeneye, but with a massivly reduced budget I'll be interested to see how they work with it. Hopefully iy'll force them to think more about plot/dialogue rather than one set peice after another!

I do enjoy my Bond films, and I think Craig was a superb choice.. time will tell.

8/10.

Would have been a 9 but;

- No Q or Moneypenny.
- Why did they incorporate the gun barrel scene into the title sequence, gahhh that really annoyed me!
- They f***ed the continuity of the whole series right up. Why is the female M Bond's first boss when it was made quite clear she came into the role in Goldeneye? Also where's his Walther PPK? And ANOTHER different coloured Felix Leiter!
- The ending went a bit ka-ka.
- For all his undeniable great acting skills, Daniel Craig is U-G-L-Y!

However, a massive massive improvement on the last two films.

That is a very good summary, I thought it also lack a decent full on car chase.

I don't know if you know but, you know the bit at the start where they jump of the cranes, from one to another, the stunt doubles actually did that (with safety rops obviously), but did jump 60ft onto a landing space of about a metre squared!!! That would cost a lot for me to do that!

And when the bird is walking down the valley in Venice the bag she is carrying swops sides...

Just got back.. One of the best Bond films Ive ever seen. Visually stunning, had all the main ingredients - car race, explosions, sex, violence, bad guy with a scare and card games. It's up there with Goldeneye, Craig was superb in my book - nice to see some real gritty acting.

I saw it last Friday and was blown away - this is top quality stuff, instantly winging its way into the Top 5 all-time Bond films.

Re the subject of other Bond books still to cover, all of the 12 novels have been done but there are still 4 short stories by Ian Fleming that haven't been touched - Octopussy and The Living Daylights were originally short stories, as were From A View To A Kill and For Your Eyes Only.

In addition, there are a number of James Bond novels by Raymond Benson and John Gardner still available - those 2 wrote the previous 5 Bond books.

Absolutely brilliant stuff, saw this last night. I don't think there's been many Bond set-pieces better than the denouement in Venice at the end, quite incredible. I can't remember going to see a film in adulthood which I've wanted to see at the cinema again but this falls into that category.

Saw it last night too. Thought it was excellent. Lots of product placement though - Mobiles, Laptops and Richard Branson's cameo appearance for Virgin Atlantic at Miami Airport. My friend was in absolute hysterics when she saw him as she's a trolly dolly for them!

The crane scene HAS to be seen on the big screen with the dizzyness inducing sweeping camera shots - you won't get the full impact on DVD!

Daniel Craig was ok, but not really Bond. A bit too mechanical.
