The argus is having a complete makeover soon, hopefully they will git rid of the bollocks reporting at the same time.
They have finally found out that they should probably be aiming the paper more towards they younger residents than the 'older' genration that do nothing but write to them about bus prices and stuff.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is some kind of cash crisis, as the club has high outgoings while it is limited in how much it can raise through it's main revenue stream (ie gate money). In my book Dick is doing very well to keep the club afloat and in the right half of the table when you bear in mind the following:
1. We are limited to less than 7000 for each home game
2. Any spare seats are difficult to offload because of restrictions put upon the club when Withdean was approved - ie no pay on the day
3. A large slice of gate receipts goes to Ecovert (also the perimeter advertising money?) and other slices pay for the park&ride/train/bus.
4. Because of our facilities it makes it harder to attract decent players/managers
5. All the time we are in this situation no 'investors' want to give us a penny - with the noble exceptions of the current board, especially FBS.
As Chappers has said, Falmer is the real key, because it solves problems 1, 3, 4 and probably 2 and 5 as well. And remember the situation was made bad by Archer & co and it's thanks to Dick that it isn't much, much worse.
It does indeed, incredible how people canot see this and understand why so much of this clubs funds have to go into ensuring that the stadium gets the go ahead and can get built asap.
Ridsdale will need someone to work with - I suggest that the former Leeds maestro and Bradford spendthrift Geoffrey Richmond is the dream team to take the Albion forward.
