Former TV presenter Caron Keating has died after losing her battle with breast cancer, family friend Peter Powell said.

The former Blue Peter presenter and daughter of Gloria Hunniford was 42.

A statement issued by Keating's family this morning said that her death had left an "unfilled void".

The family said: "At 6.15pm last night broadcaster Caron Keating sadly lost her seven-year battle against cancer, a battle that she fought with enormous courage, tenacity and optimism.

"She passed away at her mother's home in Sevenoaks, in Kent, surrounded by her family."

Used to fancy her, gutted for her family.

Thats very upsetting. She was gorgeous and one of my favourite tv presenters.

Very sad.

RIP Caron.

A horrible time for their family.
Mrs Pasty was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago, but fortunately she caught it in time. Two operations, and a combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy appear to have cleared her.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I'm waiting for further results from my mum at the moment after a while in remission.
I haven't the time to feel sorry for old Blue Peter presenters or their families.

I was lucky enough to meet Caron when I briefly appeared on Top Of The Pops in December 1997. She was a stunning young woman and was even better looking close up than on TV.

She will be sadly missed

I met her once at a Blue Peter fun run in Southampton. She borrowed my grans pen for autographs and ran off with it and my gran made me chase her to get it back. She was really nice about it and found it funny.
What a shame :nono:

Shit.

I can't believe it.

Not that I watch Blue Peter but I could hear in the background the current presenters showing footage of her in the late 80's - I just thought it was a feature on previous presenters.
