Hard left nutter with a bit of extra car hate thrown in for good measure.
If anyone truly believes voting Green is the answer I fear for their sanity!:shootself

On actual votes at the Euro elections, for the Pav constituency, the Greens led the Tories by a sizeable amount, and the Tories were ahead of New Labour. A vote for New Labour therefore at the election could let the Tories in. The choice is yours. Def Green for me, a woman of integrity - a new thing in politics, I know.

I hope you don't own a car B.G. 'Cos it'll cost you more than that to fill it up!!:lolol:

I have or rather we have a Skoda Octavia Desiel but use our old fogeys bus pass for most of the week especailly when we want to get into Brighton. We have even worked out that rather than drive to Tesco at Burgess Hill we can jump on the 31 bus and go to Tesco at Uckfield, not quite as big but adequate for most shopping.

IIRC the Greens were against the idea of the stadium, until they saw how popular it was. I certainly don't recall any massive protests against Falmer from anyone in the Green Party.

f*** everything up, as she is an idealogist rather than a pragmatist.

Bloody hell, there are a load of wild assertions with no evidence on this thread. If this is how we decide who to vote for, no wonder we have such duff politicians.

Given that
1. for the last 25 years, humans have used more of the earth's resources than the planet can renew
2.conventional economics is all about chasing economic growth assuming that there are no natural limits, and
3. we've all seen recently (with the financial/credit crisis) how insane conventional economics is,
I humbly suggest that listening to politicians proposing a different approach to the economy and our lifestyles is a pretty sane thing to do.

And I'm struggling to see the insanity in voting for them.

But I'm awkward like that.

Whilst I agree with the environmental credentials of the Green party I am more swayed by their proper left wing policies which we don't see from the Labour party anymore.

Their rising popularity is far more than just protest votes and environmentalists. There's a whole old guard of traditional left wing supporters who've been shafted by New Labour

So what's the Green/your alternative to capitalism then?

The Greens also believe in increasing tax duty on petrol, so that's a brilliant idea. Food and other prices will soar as a consequence, inflation creeps up, hauliers put out of business and more people on the dole.

Their lax policies on immigration will really help protect the countryside of course, no doubt all the new arrivals will be squatting around tepees in central London, not requiring massive housebuilding on green belt land.

Personally I would'n't want the Greens to run the country, but I'd be delighted if the Greens had ONE seat in Parliament. What harm could that do?

I'd begrudgingly say the same about the BNP and UKIP - three parties representing 10% of the electorate that remain unheard.
