Yeah, I agree he's better then Loft and Robinson, but in my opinion that isn't hard - which is why, as I say, I don't mind him getting paid middle of the road, but surely he'll want to be at the top end of our wage structure...worth it?

No, I agree I would not pay him top of the range. He would be a substitute initially so would be paid mid range wages. If he is happy to sign on that basis with only a year left on his contract at Leeds (I think) then I would be really pleased to have him back.

As I said on the Paul Iffil thread the wages is not our problem as a supporter I want the best that is available to us and I would think that Carole comes into that category more so than Westlake.

Carole, more often than not, had nobody to pass the ball to who had a clue what to do with it so often had to try to beat three men before anyone was in a position to receive the ball in an advantageous position. .

And then when he did cross some goon like Hammond would put it over the bar.

Really pisses me off the dissing of Carole, he was quality but it's become NSC lore that there was no end product which is utter rubbish

Yep, I remember him as a quality footballer who's skills were way above nearly everyone who has ever played for the Albion in the time I've been watching. He may have been a luxury player in our situation at the time but I'd love to see him in the current team he would, imo, be a revelation.

I was under the impression that Leeds had released a list of ten players who were available rather than released.

Westlake. Would love to get Westlake.

Carole. No thanks.

Either would be great, they would both more than likely be on the bench to start with and can mroe than do a job if suspensions and injurys take hold

No idea what his contribution was but they did quite a lot better than us last season so not really sure what your point is.

I'd take Carole back....he had more good games than bad...had enough ability to open up defences.

Westlake was good for his first couple of games but then lost his way....i'd be worried that would be the player we'd get once the initial honeymoon period was over.

I think Jonathan Douglas has also been made available. Decent centre midfielder.

Would love to sign him and Westlake. Would be a big statement of intent and show the board is serious about challenging for the title.

Unlikely though.

They are both good players, Carole better than Westlake, IMHO... the problem is that both have been on Leeds payroll, so probably on too high wages...

Given the state of our midfield options, I think it would be mad not to want either to come here.
