That's bloody awful...best wishes to her and her family.

My wife is recovering from a stroke as we speak which she had about 6 weeks ago (aged 39, non smoker, doesn't drink much etc). Luckily, despite it still being very serious, it wasn't a big one and she's on her way to full recovery

best wishes carol- not been good for her, lately..

She is being treated at the RSCH in Brighton. Family have asked for privacy. Doesn't look good for her.

Good to hear that your wife is on the mend Jevs - hope things continue to go well for her.

Thanks....i tell you what, it really puts things into perspective when something like this happens. You quite happily go about your life all rosy in the garden and then BANG.

Not only do we obviously want to get our loved ones on the mend quickly after such awful things but you have to look at the wider picture. My wife has just started her dream job and luckily finnished her probabtion period 3 days before having the stroke. However, no work = no mortgage and the last thing we would've needed at this stage was for her to lose her job and we end up in B&B or some run down council flat.

Fingers crossed for Carol barnes

I echo that.
I remember a supervisor at the electricity company where I worked, having a stroke at work. She didn't recover very well and was left disabled. She was only in her 40's.
Strokes don't just happen to older people.
