From the Grauniad's 10 talking points piece:

Baleba brilliance the key cog for Brighton

João Pedro and Matt O’Riley were the scoring heroes in Brighton’s memorable comeback against Manchester City, but it was the performance of Carlos Baleba in the second half that had home supporters purring in appreciation. The Cameroon midfielder was instrumental in the turnaround after coming on and was the latest evidence of his rapid progress under Fabian Hürzeler having being brought in to replace Moisés Caicedo when he joined Chelsea for a British record fee of £115m last year. Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are all thought to have already shown an interest in Baleba, but would surely have to pay a hefty price for the 20-year-old given Brighton’s reputation for demanding premium fees for their stars. “If there are big clubs who want me, it’s not something that worries me or gets me excited,” he said before the City game. “I just need to work hard and keep a cool head.”

And so begins the media drive to get him to a "big club"...

This has just come up

The problem is under FIFA rules national FAs can insist potentially injured player still report for international duty for assessment by their own medical teams.

Even if Carlos is not fully fit he’s able to play so I’d imagine Cameroon would still want him involved, hopefully they are willing to manage his mins in the same way we have been.

In the last international break he started one of their two games and played 65 mins, he was an unused sub in the other game so it looks like they might be playing ball in that respect.

He was an unused sub in the second as he got stretchered off in the first :(

I never thought I’d see a better midfielder play for us than Caicedo.

Carlos Baleba, I apologise for my naivety x
I thought this about Bissouma before Caicedo started smashing it. It’s astonishing how the club manage to find these top level players.

The fact that Baleba’s replacement, Yalcouyé, got man of the match in the Champions League against Dortmund last week just demonstrates how utterly world class our recruitment is.

Someone will be along in a minute with an example of one that went wrong 🙄

It’s unbelievable……so far ahead of any other club.

Well, we sign so many players, some do go wrong and that's fine.

But the hit rate is still exceptional, and when they hit, they really hit.

Also the reason they develop so well here is because of the environment we provide. Being a wonderkid doesn't matter if you're on the Chelsea bench all season.

Fabs mentioned in one of the many post match interviews Saturday (Man City) that Carlos has had some personal problems rather than injury.
Hope it's not his head being turned pre January window.

Nahhh doubt it he's not that type of guy. No one can afford him in Jan anyway.
