Just seen this in The Guardian comments. Anyone have a clue WTF he’s on about?

“Baleba is a disgrace, and should be banned from playing football. I hope retrospective action is taken, and a deservingly harsh punishment meted-out for trying to rip Udogie's head off in the dying moments...”

I was amazed at the time that he wasn't booked. It was towards the end and Spurs were playing out from the back, he sort of did a Davy Propper without the class.

In fact, I can see why he got a totting-up booking the other week - none of his tackles are outright bad - but there are a lot of clumsy ones, and cumulatively it's not great. Once he gets his timing slightly better he's going to be great.

I thought he was pretty dreadful when he came on, as was Lallana.

Lallana just cannot run. Spuds won the midfield once he came on due to our lack of pace
Yeah, I'm not sure why he gets match time; his legs look shot. I remember him coming on in our League Cup match at Chelsea and he looked like he struggled to walk, let alone run.

Pedro looked shattered, so I'm not surprised he went off, but surely Barrington or B-B would have been a better option: they'd at least have run a bit

People said that about Milner and then last night happened. Also worth remembering that Lallana played a massive role when he came on against Marseilles.

I can understand why De Zerbi brought him on, the classic mature old head to win free kicks, calm everyone down and so on. It just didn’t work - at all - due to Lallana’s terrible performance.

I am never one to write people off. De Zerbi knows what he’s doing - I think something was clearly wrong with Adam though. He and Baleba let the coach down with their performances.

I had a chuckle when the ball was put ahead of him to chase, and he seemed to go in slow motion before stopping, going “f*** that” and jogging slowly back 10 yards. Reminded me of when Murray was put clean through on the half way line and knew he had no chance so turned around and held it up.

Just a bit of a tussle, he should have been booked, but the ref was hopelessly inconsistent. The commenter clearly needs to seek help though. It is an idiotic comment.

I read that comment too. His bitter gracelessness and excuse making made me chuckle, especally when he got called out on it and became even more indignant. The giant bellend.

Like others have said presumably he's talking about the bit at the end of the match where Baleba tried to stop Udogie breaking but failed miserably. The comment is ridiculous hyperbole.

Thoughts on today’s performance? Some nice touches, good runs, mixed in with some sloppiness. I really want it to happen for him!
Indeed. Clear signs that he’ll be top, top level, maybe world class. Also clear signs that this won’t happen until he is at least 21, probably older.

A big mistake by the club to replace Mac & Caicedo with him. He looks like he needs a few loans before he comes good.

He could kick on like Bissouma and Mac Allister both did. Needs time. I suppose we are paying the price for Boely offering absurd money for Caicedo that couldn't be turned down, because Baleba is still a season away from being at that level if it ever happens.

Like Mac and Caicedo did, he clearly needs game time in order to improve. Sending them out on loan did the trick. Caicedo walked into the team almost straight away when he returned. We don’t have the depth to send baleba out unless we invest in the summer. If the season fizzles out, maybe he’ll get more minutes here.
