With ManU, does anyone suspect that maybe Ferguson wants to get 'dumped out' of the competition asap?
He can't refuse to enter United into it, can't speak out against the cup, but I think he regards it as a third-rate competition, even for a club with a deep mine of talent.

The press might suggest he's furious, show glum and weary pictures of him - but I suspect he goes home and clicks his heels as soon as he can, pleased as punch to be out of that cup.
Knowing his club's capabilities, depth, and other competitions, he probably could guage the situation to realise which ones they can go for in a meaningful way, and which to get out of asap.
