More likely the former, I think - we seem to forget very easily that Walton was a very good young goalkeeper too.

There is always a fee that would have been accepted. Maybe 'Silly Money' but Ipswich just wouldn't meet it

Perhaps there's another lower PL club needing a decent keeper for a season?
