I was there on the first day as well.

Think it was Smith who was the head master but not 100% about that.

Feeley was there - loved him

Sister Imaculata who was over the combined 4th year - what a bitch

Mr Simpole - now there was a man with anger-management issues. Just below a simmer 95pc of the time. Complete, eyeballs-on-stalks, out-and-out rip your head off and throw it out of the window psycho the moment someone set him off.

Yes. Oh how we laughed when we got within 10 miles of the ground and they called it off!

Now was that the first or second time it was called off?

I can't remember if I went both times, I think it was just the second game on the Tuesday night.

Still have the photo of us in the Scoreboard End at Old Trafford with you with the foam hands on!

Though i wonder if anyone heard what happened to a certain Mr. Evans, who was the Head while I was there.
Was very well respected teacher, kept banging on about christian values...

That was till he was caught sleeping with the bursary and was forced to step down...

Apparently... *for legal reasons*

it was Smith nice chap feeley then took over in my last year,

Sister Imaculata remember her well strong Irish accent giving her fire, damnation and everlasting torment welcome speech for all new students which would set the scene for all thirteen year olds

I went to Newman from 78-84. The only lesson that I did well in was Geography. Firstly with Miss Bonner and then Miss Bateman......... I wonder why.

I went to a party at Mr Tylers house, whilst still at school. It was like something out of Waterloo road, with teenage kids drunk whilst a teacher looked on.

Just far enough away from LDC
I was there from 81 to 87. Have some happy memories (Nikki Lombardo) and so really awful ones. Looking back now there were some real fruit loops as teachers - Mr Tyler being one (remember he had a really fit girlfriend that he bought to the school fete and was playing tonsil tennis with), some bordering on the psychotic (Sister pat, Mr Simpole, Mr Shields) and some great teachers who really inspired (Mr Dadswell, Mr Gee, Mr Cox). I even liked Mrs Hunting.

ps forgot Mr Jones the welsh PE / Rugby teacher and Mr Phillips the PE teacher who always seemed to have his hands in his tracksuit pockets talking to 16 year old girls

I was at Oathall who are more of a rugby school really. We were quite good at football in year 8 and got to the county cup semi-final but then the majority of our decent players left and our team had an average height of about 5 ft 4 in year 11 and we were truly shocking. Having a guy with not a clue about football running the team didn't help either. Was very surprised at the attitude of the CN players and students watching as the other Catholic school we played, St Pauls were a bunch of softies mainly.

i thought oathall were the rough school? they were definitely well chavvy when i went to warden park up until around 2004. proper bunch of NOBBERS

2 years I had her as form teacher and one of the main reasons I am now what they call a "lapsed catholic"
