Don't need to sign up for anything.
Don't think it works on Apple devices due to flash, however unsure on other formats. Happy to be proven wrong though.

The streams will work on an iPad using one of the Flash compatible browsers, ie not Safari.

However, you may have problems getting the over-picture adverts to close down, as the site is not designed for a touch interface.
