So... is it 'a lot' or is it 600 which seems more like 'hardly any'?

It's just a bit strange that areas where they said they'd sold out of season tickets have plenty of match-day tickets available... The only STs left were supposedly in S1G, but other blocks have loads of match day seats... It's more than 600, looks like 850-900, not 'a lot' but why weren't these seats available as STs? Still can't understand why the club decided to stop selling season tickets two weeks ago - surely it's got to be in their interest to sell as many as possible, right up to the start of the season (and even beyond).

I got a pair for a friend of mine and his son. They are registered in the ticketing system but I couldn't select under 16 for his boy? It just kept coming up as adult. I bought a pair anyway, so now I have 2 adult tickets. Can I downgrade the boy's one to a child ticket at the office? Has this happened to anyone else?

I think it's because we are obliged under Football League rules to let 10% of seats go on general sale. Last season we had 18 500 ST's, 2000 away seats, and around (?) 2000 available for general sale...

With all the new seats going in, we have to again make 10% available for general sale, so the number goes up pro rata

*(I think!...)

On sale now.
But why cant i choose a child ticket?

An Under16 ticket is only available if you are with an adult. I don't think the system let's you buy a child ticket unless you are also purchasing an adult one.

edit: just saw your subsequent post - therefore the above obviously isn't true. Weird. I'd definitely phone and get it downgraded to a child.

Just did a quick totting up (no, I didn't count every dot!) - looks like it's in the region of 860 or so. Some may have sold already, but it's certainly less than 900.

So your original alarmist comments were out of step with reality then?

Are you sure his birthday was entered correctly? If it's not right, perhaps that's the reason he can't get a lads ticket? Can you check his details online, or at the ticket office?

It's 'a lot' considering they were showing only about 50 season tickets left and there are loadsa seats available in areas which were supposedly sold out!

And it's not 'alarmist' if you are not a ST holder - the opposite, in fact...

Defo entered the birthdate correctly, I even went back and checked. Birth date 2006. Bought together with an adult ticket. Wierd.

They never said those 50 were the remaining 50 I think the last count from the club was about 200 left and they were releasing them 50 at a time online- not sure the club said anything official about it either it was all just comments from ticket sales staff which can't be relied upon.

Booked my tickets (at 17:05 :D) for the Barnsley game in S1H, right near the back.
I see the availability is as follows:
Most of S1H
Lower half of S1G
Small random bits&bobs of E1F (as with last season)
Some parts of W1A
Some parts of W1H (as with last season)
Most of W1I (as with last season)

From that I'm assuming that:
SW corner is ST only
E1G and E1H - Away fans
East half of South stand for Away but can be sold to home fans late if away team don't take their allocation.

Sound right?

I find it a bit strange that tickets for the cardiff & Barnsley games are on sale to anybody that wants one regardless of purchase history. Are the club not confident of being able to fill the Amex now.

Perhaps we've maxed out on ST's, and there isn't going to be a clamour for the remaining general sale seats ??? Also, it prob does away with having loads of onsale dates for different loyalty groups ???
