Look, I am not saying that if you wanted a ticket you don't already have one, but this forum has been full of rants about how greedy the club has become.

Between 1100 and 1400 tickets were selling at the rate of about 30 per hour. There was the potential for another 5 hours of sales at that rate. My point had nothing to do with people having had enough time to buy tickets. My point is the club are saying there is no space when there is loads.

Which blocks are sold / unsold? I presume SD / E and F are ours to sell normally? Are these all sold for tonight or just 1 or 2 of them?

East Stand Opens Tonight

The club and stadium contractors Buckingham Group are spending today putting the finishing touches to the extra seating which will be brought into use for the first time this evening at the first home league match of the season against Cardiff City.

This is another exciting development and the first step towards completing the expansion of the Stadium to over 30,000 seats.

As expected it has been a significant challenge for the contractors. Effectively they have put in 5,000 seats with all of its supporting facilities, in 16 weeks, while at the same time coping with the Fatboy concert which halted work for a week, and the Jehovah's Witness Festival for which work also had to stop for three days.

The physical construction work in those new areas was completed on schedule this week, but supporters will also notice work is still ongoing, as planned, to extend the stadium at the north end ready for next season, and to put in the new corporate hospitality facilities at the south end of the ground which will open in 2013.

In addition due to the incredibly tight schedule, which the construction team have maintained, there has been little time for staff training and familiarisation with the new facilities so we ask supporters to bear with us if some teething issues occur in the first few games while everything settles down.

Executive director Martin Perry said, "Buckingham have performed extremely well to complete the work in an incredibly short timescale and we are very pleased with the new facilities, but we are bound to incur a few teething issues while our staff get settled in.

"Our fans have been brilliant in the way they have supported us throughout the whole process of building the Amex and we know they are going to enjoy the new facilities but we ask them to support us as we try to get everything perfect."

In addition to the major works, the club has also upgraded all the kiosks to include an additional till point, which will help speed up service - particularly in the busy periods just before kick-off and at half-time - and of course fans can also help us by using their smartcards and paying by ecash.

You know full well that some will be screaming on here tomorrow grizzling about a 'shambles' etc.

Are you really telling me that they havent taught the new staff how to use a till & how to pull a pint in other parts of the Amex while the construction has been going on? A till is a till & a beer pump is a beer pump is it not? Why not put some older heads up there to help out? I look forward to them running out of 'Harveys' & pies like normal! :annoyed: Rant Over------leaving in around an hour--------cant wait :drink::clap2:

But who put the system in place and didn't foresee any potential problems or initiate a strategy to deal with them?

Yes, those that didn't buy vouchers have a large share of the blame, but we don't live in utopia and the problem wasn't identified or resolved by anyone. There is blame here that goes beyond the supporters and personnally I feel the transport policy didn't work as anticipated and was indeed fatally flawed.

It was fatally flawed and a new system is now in place. Ken Brown fell on his sword for the balls up

The club need to be careful on price. I will only ever be a casual fan as I live away from the area and so whether £25 or £39 makes little difference to me as it just goes on the costs of a weekend back in Sussex or Brighton itself. However I did think about the Barnsley game and getting a couple of tickets. However at £39 I've decided to go horse racing as its better value for money. This is not a moan, its just explaining that the club has to compete for my $.

Yes I'm a fan, will always listen out for the results and go to the odd game but there are other things to do. This is more a comment to all of football than just the Albion. Living in London, I've stopped going to the big London clubs as they want £50 plus to get in, whereas you can get a good ticket for a west end show for £25 and still have £25 in my pocket for a meal before or after the show. If I go to a game in London then its likely to be an Orient or some other cheaper club. Its just a question of choice in spending money.
