Carabao Cup? - remind me again, which cup was this back in the day when it had a proper name?
League Cup, aka Milk/Coca Cola/Carling/Carabao/Littlewoods/Rumbelows/Worthington/Capital One Cup.

Loved it when it was Rumbelows, and the MOTM at Wembley would get some crummy 22" CRT TV.

Nice win for Portsmouth tonight.

Haven't played them for over 7 years, so let's draw them in round 2 at the Amex.

It seems the 2nd round is not regional so we could get anyone.

I assume the draw is on Tuesday or Wednesday but haven't seen any confirmation yet.

No doubt you'll be asserting your right to a semi-final ticket should we get there.

Bit of a strange cheap shot, considering the years of us entering a competiton in the 1st round and teams entering at different stages depending on european competition.

Last year Potter picked a Swansea C team for the League Cup game against Crystal Palace. Seven of the starting players were more or less unheard of, the others were benchwarmers. Potter wanted to see what his youth and fringe players could do against decent opposition. Some, like Daniel James and George Byers, proved to stand up well, others failed pretty hard. Lost 0-1 in the end.

Now the situation at Brighton is different, but I would be very surprised if the team would resemble anything similar to a first eleven. The FA Cup is a different matter. Depending on your league position, Potter could prioritize it above a league fixture.

Either Bristol club away would be perfect!
Normally I’d expect an u-23 side but I can see a few fringe players featuring to get match ditness

A home tie please, preferably against Championship or below opposition. A big day out for them and a winnable tie for us.

What about the Rochdale v. Bolton Derby?

An oversight, my apologies, two fierce rivals, no love lost between them and only 20 miles a part. Could be an absolute crackerjack of a game. One thing is for sure, the Crown Oil Arena will be absolutely rocking.
