The train issues MAY be down to a new timetable starting on the 11th and the times not being loaded onto the system yet but I stress I don't know.
Could well be, I checked two days ago and no issues reported between Sussex and Charlton with the standard single change at London Bridge

There are five trains an hour, but yes, Charlton station will be pretty busy for a while.
There’s plenty of parking to the south of the ground if you don’t mind a 15-20 minute walk.
Could you be more specific about parking options? Thanks

If you look between Shooters Hill Rd and Charlton Park you’ll see quite a few residential streets with broadly colonial names. That’s where I tend to go. The earlier you are, the nearer you can get to the park. Then it’s a 15-20 minute walk through Charlton village and down the hill towards the station. Away fans will get to the South and West stands along Floyd Road. The way back is a bit of an uphill slog, but all good cardio.

Strangely from where I live in Walthamstow, it's a 25 minute drive or a 3 part day long public transport trek. Looking at the Charlton ticketing, they really aren't interested in going. Most of their areas have barely sold 10%, I could see half the attendance being Brighton.

It allowed me to buy a ticket at one point this morning , i dithered and checked the stadium plan, then suddenly Sold Out pops up again.

Tickets seem to be available for sale now in West Upper. Although you wouldn't know if just looking at frontpage of club website...
