And just like that, real football is back!

Four ties tonight and in action right now...

Milton Keynes Dons v Leicester City
Newcastle United v AFC Bournemouth
Southampton v Lincoln City
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Gillingham

Newcastle have a very strong side out in the Eddie Howe derby, and Bournemouth have gone strong too. I guess many sides are using this as a warm-up to get their players match-fit for the upcoming league fixtures.

Tough start for Nathan Jones with his Saints side already one down to Lincoln.

I'm expecting a few upsets. The premier league sides often play weakened sides, but now there's also the potential that even the stronger teams/players will struggle because they've not played for a while, where as the efl teams have had a couple of recent competitive games and are to match fit (or closer to it).

Leicester just taken the lead….Saints still losing one nil

Are these ties being shown on Tv at all?
None of tonight's games are on UK TV.

Man Utd v Burnley (Wed) and Man City v Liverpool (Thur) are both on Sky.

Some of these fixtures are being shown overseas however - I've found both the Newcastle and Leicester games on my dodgy streaming service thingummy.

You could also see it as the Premier League players being fresh and rested - who knows?!?

A stream of ours tomorrow looks unlikely then. I guess it'll be invisible, same as the Arsenal game. I'll be on SSN watching for the goal updates like last time.
