We do ours with Frizzell in Bournemouth, recommend them very good at dealing with a claim we had last year when our car was written-off by a twat who rammed us.

Very good price on write-off way over odds IMHO.

I used to be with Sainsbury's, but the premium stayed the same this year and did not go down, so I changed to BUDGET.

Them and EasyInsurance (part of easy companies) are joint favourites at the moment quoting about £300 less than direct line, more than and the other main ones etc

I went with direct line, they were at least 70 quid less than the nearest quote, also tried confused.com but they came out slightly more than when I tried their own website, still the cheapest however. The best bit was that they allowed me to pay in installments but free of interest.
