Cappello criticises FA over Terry

Why the bugger is this trial in July? Maybe there's a good reason but if it's so that it doesn't interfere with the Euros, the FA are irrelevant and clueless.

Isn't it a police matter rather than an FA one so the timing of the trial has nothing to do with the FA? I do feel they are trying to do something for appearances sake rather than anything else but think they are wrong to meddle with team affairs. I would rather Terry wasn't in the team and thats got nothing to do with his alleged lack of morals and general unsavouriness, but more down to he's not anywhere near as good as he used to be and feel we have better options.

What would be worth thinking is if Rio Ferdinand and Terry were selected for the team, how would that pan out (not that either should on current form)

Also what would stop Capello choosing Terry and as they walk onto the pitch he hands him the captains armband. there would be sweet FA anyone could do about it and it would be amusing (to me at least) and it would send the journalists and commentators into meltdown

Me too.

I take your point about the police having all the say in the timing. Why wasn't there such a long delay in the Suarez/Evra case?

Oh, and someone Twittered amusingly tonight, "The Anfield hoarding reads 'Kick Racism Out Of Football'. Presumably because 'Suspend Racism From Football For 8 Games' wouldn't fit."

From what i know, the evra/suarez case was dealt with the FA as it was basically one persons word against the other with not enough evidence for it to be a police matter whereas the Terry one does have the evidence. I may be wrong as i haven't been following either particularly closely but thats the way i understand it. So if thats the case if Terry is found guilty i would hope he gets a 16 match ban or something higher than Suarez but no doubt FA will cock it up.
