Ok, 1 more set of clues then I will give the answer.
Although I was live on air i was not alone, far from it.
As it was on MW you would have had to live in London to know what it was, this is no good for people who lived in Kent or Sussex.
If Amexruislip is around he may well know.
It was very popular but you had to be into a certain type of music.
The DJ of the 'Programme' has already been mentioned.

Guessing the obvious of pirate Invicta Radio and Steve Walsh, Soul over London.....
But ???

I used to work in London, every friday a mate and I would get changed into the soul boy kit and make our way down to The Lyceum for Capital Radios Best Disco In Town hosted by Greg Edwards.
It was live for 2 hours.
Probably the best and easiest bird pulling time of my life
1500 crammed in with a lot of Essex/East London girls who also went from work in the city.
Great days.
Cant believe You Tube have it ( but it is not Caister as it says)

I used to tape Rodigan's Reggae show.

Had some belters including the Peter Tosh and Hurricane Gilbert specials. Shame about the adverts and the occasional fuzziness (well Brighton was on the edge of coverage)

As a (sometime up from Brighton) frequenter of TBDiT, I wholeheartedly concur with your description :)

Graham Dene, doo-do-doo da-doo

Also liked Graham Dene's morning show, the forerunner to Chris Tarrant of course. Graham used to do the brain teaser quiz, remember 3 PH on a F? That was one that stuck in my mind.

Also had the opportunity in the 80's to go up in the Flying Eye with Russ Kane. Still have the photos taken including the QE2 bridge with just the upright supports in place.
