I have to agree the smell of weed is really strong and all so common when out walking the dog of an evening from homes cars and individuals walking past it's become so common I think the police pay very little attention to it.

However I sympathise with your predicament are you able to insulate the eves or the party wall in the loft to reduce the smell or just have a word with them next door somthing like can they smoke it in a different room or location as the smell is a problem and if that fails I would tell them that I was going to report them to the police and then do so

Before you get a knife in your back when going by your neighbours door.

Have a word with the neighbours. They'll be alright if you know how to approach people. Tell the police first and he’ll think you a nob.... I would. Just chat with him/ them and explain.

The odor must go or you'll never find out where the one million pounds is hidden.

what would you do
Next door neighbour is absolutely stinking out my loft and one of my bedrooms with the smell of cannabis that isn't coming through the windows but must be coming through the cavities of the walls and stinking out my clothes etc.
I live in semi detatched private house attached to council house
Which would you do to get it sorted 1/ tell the police
2 / tell the council
3/ go round and have it out with them myself

Report it to the council first as it their tenant!

I’m assuming as you can smell it she/he is just smoking as a pose to growing?

Who are the local authority?

Now now not every skunk puffing dope head is a violent knife wheedling murderer, I am sure with the right approach this individual will see sence and reframe from lighting up anywhere that might cause offence, but just to be on the safe side Amerson do a nice line in stab vests that might be worth a look at

This is legal now in many pars of North America, It will be in the UK in a few years.

So I was going to ask how folk in, say, Vancouver deal with this?

Then it hit me: 'duplexes' (semi detached) and terraved housing are not the norm in the main. In vancouver, travel west from Granville Street towards Point Greay and you won't find any housing that is not detached (or part of a swish apartment block). Unfortunately in the UK most housing is not detached.....

As other posters have suggested, try to have a friendly chat; they are probably unaware...

Does their stab vest look anything like the hoax terrorist suicide vest? That might be a whole new issue.

Any good solicitor will tell you that starting a war with a neighbour is the last resort. It might make you feel better for a short period of time, but you can end up with months and months of grief.

I'm coming from the perspective of the original poster, not their stoner selfish neighbour.

An intelligent conversation is more likely to stop it quickly than the authorities. If they are just smoking too much they will wake up fast. If they are growing on mass, someone complaining is going to frighten the shit out of them.

Alternatively, do as you both suggest. Let everyone including the local newspaper know that you bought a house next to a cannabis farm. Brilliant.

I offered the Council Environmental advice,as it has worked twice already for me,cannabis farms being quite common here.It provides alternative employment for taxi drivers who are banned from driving. But of course, you always know better than anyone else.

Hire some ‘professional’ help to mediate with your neighbour.

I’ve always used these guys and can recommend them. Do google the lads - loads of great review; sometimes, they even do the job for free if they think I’m too poor to pay!

Just seen our local grower (no longer a problem) who uses this type of equipment to keep out of trouble.Cuts down the electricity bill as well.

Perhaps post a picture through his letterbox?

Legislation against nature is pretty daft. Speak to him. It's easy. Explain you don't have a problem with other than its penetrating your home, and whilst the ridiculous law is in place , it makes your life difficult

Your mate Pretty pink fairy will be disappointed in you.

He has a term for people who do what you did, which is quite appropriate for this thread :lolol:

Grassing to the council is cowardly if you ask me. Bottled popping round and asking them in person.

This is if he actually did it, of course.

Yup, here, always have been. And I’m not quite sure what the credibility line is about, emotional projection maybe? But getting back on track, have you really just posted a cannabis farm’s address on NSC? Lol. I don’t think you have, have you? Wally.
