Im not sure. I think if the person is being genuine it may be possible to fall for someone in a big way because you probably open yourself up to the possibility more because you are not directly faced with the prospect of rejection.

I do think actually falling in love though is different, you do need to meet them to take it to that stage...

In Aug 1997 I met a girl - not hugely attractive to each other, but we became great mates and I still see her once a month for drinks.

In Feb 1999 I met a girl i'd been chatting to online.. nice girl but she was 18 & I was 23.. she was too young basically. I think we went out 3 times tops.

In July 2000, I sent an e-mail to a girl in Worthing - we chatted on and off for 18 months online without ever hearing each other's voice or pic. Then we met...
Today in December 2004. I live with her and our 2 year old son. And we're extremely happy.

2 out of 3 aint bad!

I promise you it can work.
