I've heard that piss colour is the best indicator also. Mine seems to keep fairly pale with the odd cup of water here and there, I'm sure some of the women I work with drink far too much water.

But its fine to have 10-12 pints beer in an evening which is about 6 litres.........although you do tend to piss it out just as fast as you drink it lol

as i understand it, theres lots of disolved "stuff" in beer. alcohol for a start, sugars, fibre, some vitamins and minerals (probably more or less the same as bottled waters). it doesnt dilute your levels of such things in the body, which *lots* of water does.

I remember once when I was younger I got in drunk from a night out, and because I was going out again the next day I wanted to avoid a hangover.

I thus drank approximately 9 pints of water, thinking it'd be a smart move.

My dad went nuts at me the next day saying I very easily could have killed myself.

Sorry to disagree with all of you(I did only read page 1 and got bored)
2-5 litres a day for sedentary adult is fine through water and food.
4-8 litres for active/athletic people through food and water.
Naturally not in one sitting through the day is fine.
If you are very active then you are fine with 6.
And you can take that as FACT from a qualified personal trainer.

There difference is after an 'E' is that it stops the function of urination.

No it doesn't. It can make it harder for someone to actually start the flow and you may not feel the need to go as urgently as you should. It doesn't prevent you from going.

Tap water in Brighton has just as many minerals as any bottled water; it comes from chalk aquifers.

Conclusive proof that drinking too much water can lower the attention span.

Lol.

However I only didn't read page 2 as I was on my iPhone and it was taking ages. I did go back and read pages 2&3 when I got home

Im absolutely amazed by the stick insect people who drink tea all day and shove buckets of biscuits inside themselves arent fat bastards.

This. I have to be so f***ing disciplined with what I eat in order not to be an enormous fat bastard. Not fair as I'd happily survive on a diet of Drifters and Curly Wurlies.

I drink about 3 litres a day. Don't really piss a lot which tells me I should cut down on salt.

I'd always get funny looks off the staff if I ordered an orange juice in a club when I was visually off my head on ecstasy. It was definitely safer to get dehydrated than to risk brain swelling and poisoning with too much fluid. As soon as I left the club I would need a wee very soon after and it would sting badly. Keeping sodium levels high in the blood are very important no matter what the situation.
