Can you buy BEER in the morning?

Are places like the 24 hour shop outside Brighton Station allowed to serve beer at 9 in the morning?

Need to know because if they don't I've got to go out now and get some (f***'s sake).

I think you can get beer from 8am Mon-Sat in supermarkets.

I think it's only on Sundays you have to wait to buy beer these days.

Mind you, hopefully soon we will be able to buy beer 24 hours a day as there is an upcoming Law Change on licensing hours.

It will be the same for the pubs (subject to conditions)

The sale of alcohol starts at 8AM Monday to Saturday and theoretically ends at 11PM. Sundays it's 10AM.

Did nobody hear that report yesterday that thus far not one pub in the whole of London has applied for one of these new 24 hour licences?

They came into effect at the beginning of the year I believe but as yet nobody seems willing to take advantage. Worse luck
