Great keeper most of the time, but has questionable handling in his box at times and I thought that before todays game.

I'm not sure I buy into this needing competition to up your game. Doesn't always happen that your place being at risk improves performance. Obviously you want as good as you can in your squad to challenge for places, but that is not the same as just having the threat of losing that place hanging over a player.

Keepers are like drummers, they're a weird breed.
Agreed . I don’t think a high quality keeper on the bench makes a number one keeper any more or less likely to perform .

Have not read this but nobody can be surprised. Always looks like making a mistake every game. All he is is a good shot stopper
Bullshit. He effectively plays as an extra defender for us. Would love to see Casillas & Cech in their pomp or De Gea and the like try and play the way he has to with the ball at his feet!

Well, he had a HUGE part in it at least! Nah, he needs to own that mistake. Others missed chances but that was a monumental f*** up.
I'm sure he will, but even then best GKs in the world make these types of mistake from time to time.

I'm never one to apportion blame to a particular player, but you could look to Mac Allister for having made more f*** ups - pretty sure it was 3 sitters he missed.

My point is, it's a team game, the entire team lost the win. Not Sanchez.

Only 4 teams have conceded less goals than us. We have a +11 goal difference. We play on the edge of risk, we take risks everywhere. Players made mistakes against Bournemouth and they got away with it. Sanchez didn't on this occasion.

He does make mistakes every game. They’re just not always punished.

True but ultimately he’s there to prevent goals . My theory is that he’s trying to think ahead instead of concentrating on the moment and he then makes at least one mistake a game , we’ve just been lucky the vast majority haven’t lead to us conceding

Only difference to Bournmouth game is he missed ball all together in that game. No excuse for that drop We have all seen keeper errors but that is one of worst drops I have seen

I don't think he enjoys taking a hit. I think he was anticipating a hit and was thinking about that and lost concentration on the ball.

What's not like about RDZ? Class - Potter would never say that!

On Robert Sanchez's mistake: "It was clear he made a mistake but like Mac Allister, like Ferguson like Undav. The coach is the person who makes more mistakes. This is not a problem. We have to be clear to understand our potential because we don't yet understand it. To fight for a place in Europe. We want to try to arrive in that position."
