Can we ban the word 'Chav' please

Is anyone else getting seriously bored of this annoying word? It seems to me like it has become no longer an insult, but more acceptance of poor people to behave in a threatening manner. What was wrong with the word 'pikey'? It winds me up, all I here in my office is references to 'Chavs' all day. It is having the effect of these 'chavs' thinking that they are part of some youth culture movement, like the mods and rockers, when really they are just the dregs of society who, for some reason, think that their Burberry caps and white Adidas trousers are actually stylish. (Rant ended prematurely due to computer being thrown through window in furious rage.)

Thirded. Once the Mail did a feature on Chav fashion, it was the beginning of the end. The word must be banned, and offenders given a two-week vacation in Croydon's best hotel and spa complex.

You can't ban the word CHAV, because The Sun have only just discovered it, and are now doing regular features on Chav culture to explain it all to everyone. They have even run a little piece in the sports section today, complete with a a Burberry cap in the headline, saying "ARE YOU CHAV UTD ?". They are inviting readers to contact them to say if their club is the most "chav-crazy club in soccer".

Needless to say, I have already emailed them nominating the Albion, as its all we ever talk about on here.

I use that expression on a regular basis after it was introduced to me by my wife!
