Can someone do a correlation analysis between pre-season performance & season performance?

Pretty sure it would show there is a very low correlation, for all those getting worried...

The lack of another 2-3 signings could become a concern if nothing is done in next 2 weeks or so, but couldn't be less bothered about results so far considering the very experimental teams put out.

All i am worried about is that we turn up on the day at Derby and get a result

I remember we lost to Eastbourne one season 3-2 last min.

We then went on to storm League 1 under Gus.

Results in pre season mean bugger all, its nice to win but its all about getting fit and not getting sent off.

But the lack of signings is of slight concern tbh.

My guess is none.

The games should be free to watch with the knowledge that the results are meaningless.

The ones that stick out to me are the Micky Adams Part II and the Sammy Hyypia pre-seasons. Both were woeful and set alarm bells ringing for the season ahead.
To me the main home preseason match can often be the yardstick to judge by not these little training ones. Hyppia's one at the Amex against Southampton was just awful.
