[Help] Can anyone recommend a decent rat trap?

If there is away you can avoid poison please do. We had a giant rat under our shed and I set a poison box. A week or so later I saw it in a terrible state as it turned away (slowly) half it's face was missing like the gus fring death scene in breaking bad. Must have been a horrible end for it

is it for indoors or out. if indoors they have sonic plug things that repel rats also packs of poison

The only part of that which works is the poison. Those sonic repellants are pseudoscience. This might give you some ideas.
