Labour strong hold Crawley

then Labour it is
unfortunately a lib dem holds our seat(Stephen Lloyd) and much as I like him it does look like a toss up between the cons and UKIP, so I am afraid it looks like I am going to have to vote tactically to try and keep the tory out.
having said that most of those I meet tell me that they voted lib dem or tory last time will now be voting UKIP.
my take on the political parties is
tories = less said the better
labour= watered down tories
lib dems = tories
UKIP = bl00dy useless (but will do to get the tories out)
Greens = as close to my socialist ideals as I am going to get (but will never get in here)
8 weeks to go and its going to be close

each to his own. I don't think that any of UKIP's policies make sense....... and yes, I have read their policy stuff on their website..

This. Not to mention we have so MANY bigger problems in this country than immigration, which is all UKIP bang on about.

Undecided myself, leaning towards Lib Dem if anything as I agree with more of their policies, that and our local MP is a Lib Dem and has helped out someone in my family with a government agency massively. The Lib Dem's wont win on a national level, but on a local level - the Lib Dem's need to keep hold of Eastbourne.

I like Stephen Lloyd, but talking to my neighbours and people in town SL is going to be very pushed to keep Eastbourne, in fact I think any MP in the south-east is going to be looking over their shoulders

Most MPs will be pushed to keep their seats across the country. SL has done a hell of a lot on a local level and actually seems to give a sh*t unlike our last Tory MP. If anything, a Lib Dem keeping Eastbourne wouldnt make much of a difference on a national level, except it is a seat the Tories wont win. Labour and UKIP wont win Eastbourne either. Should be a win for SL I think, just not a majority.

EU and Immigration of course. Again, their are bigger issues. Id rather the potential cuts to the NHS, Police, Defence and our national debt was addressed ahead of Europe. Almost bizarre how UKIP prioritise the EU over much more important issues at home.

my socialist ideals go against this ..............................but he is a good guy and does a lot for the town and if he gets back in it will be a wry smile from me:smile:

'Ove
What we want: (Electorate)

(No Taxes)
(No death duties)
Well equipped army for invading anywhere we fancy
No Army
No Taxes
Ever upward house prices
Houses for everyone
A BTL 'Portfolio' each
No immigration ( except to look after mum in her old age.)
Never ending immigration
Free Healthcare whatever it costs, for decades for our mum, so we can inherit the house, when she's dead.
Huge generous pensions
No taxes
Well equipped Police force
Freedom
No demonstrators allowed except:
Anti-fox hunting
Pro hunting.....blah blah, you get the point
No taxes

It's not the Politicians......it's us, the electorate.
We want everyone else to pay taxes, we want free healthcare for mum, we want, we want, we want,.......and we don't give a flying duck for the homeless the unemployed, the sick.......let them lick our boots, the scum that they are.

It's been happening a while. Get used to it.

Surely UKIP are the biggest con artists going as they are pretending to be an alternative yet offering more of the same ???

Not sure about that. UKIP stand for:
- leave the EU. No other party says that.
- regain control of our borders by a) leaving the EU, b) points based visa system and limited time work permits, c) proof of private health insurance for immigrants. No other partry says that.
- no tax on the minimum wage. Any other parties promising that?
- scrap HS2. Only party promising that.
- abolish inheritance tax; rigorous cuts to foreign aid; develop shale gas; no votes for prisoners; remove the UK from the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights; allow creation of new grammar schools; benefits only available for those who have lived here for five years; no to Political Correctness - it stifles free speech; - no other party promising all that - and all policies which I personally support 100% and anyone who loves this country should do too.

I can't get my head around it when political parties state they will withhold benefits from immigrants.

If a legal immigrant, with a family, is unlucky enough to lose employment, either by redundancy or sickness, do we just say, sorry, you'll have to live in a tent begging for food?

There is no way any society would allow this to happen.

I really don't know who to vote for. Was going to vote UKIP but i want the Tories out and Labour is my best bet i guess.

Don't vote tactically, vote for what you believe in. If you believe in UKIP vote for them.

Also Crawley is hardly a 'Labour stronghold' the MP's a Tory!
