You're being disingenuous and you haven't answered the question.

i did say, twice, we should follow the law. cant really see how thats disingenuous. do you think we should ban online campaigning to avoid this type of targeted electioneering?

Honestly how would remainers feel if the ball was on the other foot, and leavers where calling for a 2nd referendum. Do you honestly think the government would have another referendum, absolutely no chance in hell, regardless of what supposedly went on.

I'm sorry, have you paid any attention to the substance of this story, or do you just see a thread on NSC that you think might be a bit anti Brexit and crack open the cliches?
Any opinions on the last couple of days' news?

If you believe in democracy this is a fallacious argument

I think you should only pay for as much online advertising as the laws allow. And Cambridge graduates and IT contractors are not cheap.

Seems the vote has been compromised, and lets face it a lot a obstacles ahead some without any workable solutions.

I wouldn't rule anything out. Second referendum, UK fracturing, new war in Ireland

We know that the overt campaigning of the Leave campaign was full of distortions and false promises, and that it offered no plan, roadmap and impact studies or thought through proposals. Now a minority of parliamentarians have taken the Leave vote of 37% of a restricted electorate as a mandate for massive constitutional change. Now with the potential breach of electoral law, the theft of private data of millions of people, covert micro-messaging and manipulation, perhaps blackmail, the process as a whole represents a form of constitutional criminality, a coup against the democratic processes of this country. For those on the left there is nothing new about the role of right wing hegemony.

I don't think that all remainers are automatically calling for a second referendum and I recognise the difficulty of assessing how much impact any illegal activity had on the final result. However if you do nothing in response to proven examples of breaches of rules you are effectively saying that the only real rule that exists is not being caught before the vote takes place as you will be in the clear afterwards. That isn't a great precedent to set for any of us.

It'll be interesting to see if these are picked up and examined. I suspect these are fallacious reactive claims, but am open to being proved wrong on this suspicion.
What you don't seem to understand is that Cadwalladr has been investigating this for over a year, and has got on board over a dozen whistleblowers, various media companies, the Electoral Commission and the Information Officer. This seems like a shallow, reactive attempt to diffuse the story from a particularly suspect source of news.

Whenever someone quotes from the Tory Troll Guido Fawkes you know they are trying to deflect from the issue

I'd be surprised if stuff makes it beyond the fake news, unregulated area of the media

I've just had a look at the websites. The Telegraph are ignoring it. The Mail have decided to focus on the death of Wylie's predecessor, and buried information about Brexit at the bottom of that story. Be interesting to see how this evolves but, yes, I'll enjoy witnessing the fallout and things are going to get even more polarised.

Nothing on the BBC (well known pro Brexit propaganda outlet) homepage or politics - Brexit page either. Very odd considering these are supposedly earth-shattering revelations that could bring about a second referendum ....
