Well …..I think we are fantastic….!
You can be passionate and not lose all sense of rationality, throwing out hyperbole left, right and centre.I totally expect lots of knee jerk reaction immediately after a performance like that. It's called passion.
Absolutely. 25 years ago what we wanted was a future in which we could just behave and react like normal football fans. Part of that is to be angry about putting a display that was shockingly poor in planning and execution in one of the most high profile games in our history.I went to Hereford, I watched us get beat 0-1 to 9 man Wallsall in the rain at Withdean but I am livid with the result tonight. That team and manager and the club as it is NOW is capable of better than that. Being so open and naive in a 1st leg of a European tie is very poor and I reserve the right to be angry with the team.
Are you genuinely saying football supporters can’t be irrational ? Jeez, after some Brighton games of old id have had them all lined up against a wall and shot. And that’s not even being irrational it would have been being responsible. You can be passionate and not lose all sense of rationality, throwing out hyperbole left, right and centre.
He's being realistic, unlike yourself who has to rely on personal remarks! What on earth does the OP expect after such a disappointing night...? I totally expect lots of knee jerk reaction immediately after a performance like that. It's called passion.
I'm not sure why the OP has turned into such a nawse since his retirement ( with loads of money, so he tells us )....?
Maybe he should put more effort into his Crystal Palace supporting son.
Just as a reminder, he did tell a lot of people "to shut the f*** up" at an emotional time for passionate Albion supporters. He's being realistic, unlike yourself who has to rely on personal remarks!
Ha ha. It is how I used to feel so many times after a disappointing game. I'm a lot older now, but I totally understand that posts made in the immediate aftermath of a poor performance should be taken with a pinch of salt. I personally, love to see that passion and sometimes irrational statements made. They are not only entertaining, but remind me I'm not alone by far in those times. It's a fleeting moment and nothing more than that. Are you genuinely saying football supporters can’t be irrational ? Exactly. We should be able to squabble amongst ourselves, say we’re the worst/best team in the world. Say the goalkeepers rubbish (even if he didn’t make a mistake). In 24 hours time we’ll wonder what all the fuss was about. Some posts are like being stuck behind a slow car, for that period of time you wish all manner of evils on them but once you’ve overtaken them normality prevails and you realise that person is probably alright in real life.Ha ha. I'm sorry if some wet-wipes get offended on behalf of others.
Wow, I was merely responding to the more extreme quotes people were making and it was as if they'd failed to acknowledge how far TB, PB & RdZ have brought us in the past few years and how far we've come over the past twenty five or so years. I accept that there's passion immediately following the game and we all react to that differently. What on earth does the OP expect after such a disappointing night...? A great response. For the record I was a nause well before retirement, as well, maybe I've just got worse. Son doing well, thank you.
We've just played in the last 16 of the Europa League, we got spanked, most of us remember getting battered at Withdean, soaked to the skin, without any signs of progress on the horizon. Enjoy these seasons, they're the best we've EVER had. Get behind the team, keep the faith and shut the &^%* up!
I’m just glad my kids came along when the Albion have been decent. A generation ago it would have been a hard sell, the Premier League was in the rise and we were living hand to mouthThat’s the problem, isn’t it. Lots of newer supporters who don’t support in the way many of us oldies do. We weren’t even mega shite in those days. We were exactly the same as the vast majority of football clubs. Clubs that have loyal support who don’t expect to be beating Roma. If people can’t enjoy current times they definitely won’t stick around for the bumpy road that has always been inevitably ahead. That’s mainly what being a football fan is about, not showing off to plastic Man U fans on Twitter.
I can understand that, although we brought our kids up through the Gillingham and Withdean years and have some great memories of family support for the underdog. I have to admit that this season I am just becoming a bit tired of it. Still going to lots of away games and we travelled down to the Marseille home game but I’m not really feeling a part of it anymore. We go to football every week and I’m enjoying my non league footie much more than the Albion.I’m just glad my kids came along when the Albion have been decent.
