Sabatier are the best knives.

Pots and pans I have Debenham's stainless steel with copper bottoms. Had them over 10 years and going strong.

Don't forget a ninja foodi. It will save you loads of cupboard space and I use mine daily. It does all of this; Pressure Cook, Air Fry, Slow Cook, Steam, Bake/Roast, Sear/Sauté, Grill, Yoghurt and Dehydrate. Mine doesn't have the yogurt /dehydrate as this is the new version. Around £180.

I have to admit, I’ve seen the Ninja Foodi and I do quite fancy one. I’ve never tried an air fryer though - tell me, do ‘air fried’ chips in anyway resemble their fat fried equivalent?

I bet there aren't many football boards that can run a thread over several pages on cooking utensils.

You’re right, but it’s brilliant though, innit. Don’t underestimate what a great forum this is. I’m a Grimsby fan who originally arrived here vaguely interested in how little League One Brighton were funding your magnificent new ground, but stuck around because of the standard and diversity of the conversation on here.

Honestly, whenever I’m faced with a problem related to a subject I know little about, my first thought these days is “fúck it, I’ll go ask NSC”. And this is a case in point. I could have gone and signed up to a cookery forum and most likely been ignored or had one vaguely useful reply in three weeks. And here we are, I posted this this afternoon and now we’re on page 5 or 6 of useful advice and I now own every kitchen gadget going short of a sous vide machine.

Even more remarkably, I probably wouldn’t even have the house I’m in the process of furnishing if it wasn’t for NSC’s very own Uncle Spielberg and his relentless efforts to secure us a mortgage in the heat of the original lockdown. And that’s not an exaggeration.

Seriously, don’t take it for granted. It’s a fúcking amazing forum you’ve got here, it really is.

In the ninja, I've only done frozen fries and they are fine. I have an old air fryer where I've made chips from potatoes ([emoji3]) and they come out fine but not as good as food as deep fried.

With the ninja, I'd never even thought about using a pressure cooker and I now regularly use that. Frozen chicken wings, breasts, mash potato, frozen sausages, loads of stuff. I've pretty much done 3 course meals in it, from curries to cookies.
It's a seriously good but of kit.
The hardest bit is getting timings right, it cooks so quick, I've found even the recipe /instruction booklet that comes with it is usually out, ie it tells you 20 minutes and only need 10.
Cleaning it is also a breeze, unlike my old air fryer with the window that was a nightmare to clean. You just wipe the lids, pot and basket, no need for dishwasher although you can if you want.
Sorry for the infomercial. [emoji3]

I'd second this. The knives are razor sharp and great to use. Only downside is that they are a bit flimsy so you have to be careful not to bend the points.

You’ll drastically reduce the life of any non-stick cookware if you put it in the dishwasher or clean it with detergent and anything more abrasive than a sponge.

This is my experience, they almost always end up chipping the non stick and corroding.

I just shelled out on the non-coated procook pans so hopefully they'll last longer. I haven't got time to not use a dishwasher.
