Circulon pans are top notch. I paid around £200 for my set but there are cheaper ones available. Never had any issues with them, cook beautifully, clean easily. One downside is the larger pans are quite heavy and my Mrs complains she can't always lift it when it's full.

I had some custom damascus knives made for me last year. ******* to maintain as they rust if you fail to keep them oiled, but super sharp and gorgeous looking.

Quality pans like Le Creuset pans and things like Sabateur (spel?) knives all at good prices.

You have to be careful with Sabatier. The company didn't register the brand name so there are all sorts of dodgy companies calling their knives 'Sabatier'. I bought a paring knife of that name and it's pretty poor TBH. I did buy an excellent one too but that was in France and from a reputable place - if something's a bit cheap, then it's probably no good.

I have a complete set of Global Chef knives and they're very good but they're not cheap

Another vote for pro cook pots and pans, I also swear by (genuine) sabatier knives

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
I believe a good divorce lawyer is quite cheap by comparison.

I had a set of those. After a few years the non stick wears off. I wouldn't buy them again.

You’ll drastically reduce the life of any non-stick cookware if you put it in the dishwasher or clean it with detergent and anything more abrasive than a sponge.

Lion Sabatier are the ones to get in my experience.

Honestly the best pots and pans I’ve cooked with is the Stella range I probably use the sauté pan daily. Le cruset way to heavy for modern cooking each to their own though.

Sabatier are the best knives.

Pots and pans I have Debenham's stainless steel with copper bottoms. Had them over 10 years and going strong.

Don't forget a ninja foodi. It will save you loads of cupboard space and I use mine daily. It does all of this; Pressure Cook, Air Fry, Slow Cook, Steam, Bake/Roast, Sear/Sauté, Grill, Yoghurt and Dehydrate. Mine doesn't have the yogurt /dehydrate as this is the new version. Around £180.

Another vote for the Stellar range, very good indeed and I'm a doofus in the kitchen.:dunce:

good shout. I got a set of Brabantia pans for under £100 and a roll of Victorinox knives for £150 from there about 15 years ago. All still going strong apart from the frying pan which packed up spectacularly last month. The death of the frying pan was quite exciting as the triple layer separated with a helluva bang. I must have used it about 5,000 times though (including making tart tatins in a pub kitchen with a furnace of an oven for a few years).
You'd give the pan the benefit of the doubt after that sort of hammer I guess. [emoji23]

I bet there aren't many football boards that can run a thread over several pages on cooking utensils.

I suppose Palace's equivalent would be which is the best shop to nick gear from.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Ended up with Procook in the end, I’d forgotten I’d actually pitched to them at their Gloucester HQ many moons ago but I remember learning about their model in the process and that they sold good gear.

Ended up slinking about £500 mind, wow did we end up through the rabbit hole. Who knew we needed egg rings, garlic graters and apple corers. Honestly, my wife’s ability to think of an historic occasion when some random gadget would have been useful is unreal. She’ll bankrupt me one day, that woman.

Yes ... I could grizzle about what happened but it's done. Defo in those early rounds they're looking for entertainment as much, if not more, than skills. Absolutely not the case in later rounds though. She enjoyed it though and no regrets

Where's the episode? That's really impressive. Well done to get that far Mrs Rugrat.:clap2:

TBF £500 on all the kit and gadgets isn't bad. Trouble is, although you think that's the end of it. It's actually just the start....
