Anyone used Snnug.co.uk for insuring their van?

Currently in the process of reluctantly changing vehicles and this company that specialises in insuring vans has popped up as not necessarily giving the cheapest, but certainly a competitive package …I’ve never heard of them and wondered if anyone has had any experience with them on the customer service side

TIA

On another note, van theft for tools seems hugely high at the mo. Don’t let those pricks get their hands on anything.

10 posts and 3 insurance companies (including the op) mentioned :lolol:

I have used Aviva for many years, probably not the cheapest but I have also got breakdown cover with them. I had a look round a few years back for prices and decided it wasn’t worth changing to save a few pounds.

A question for the trades people? Is there an insurance advantage for having the sign ' No tools stored in this van overnight ' ?

I only ask as if I was some desperate thieving scrote I wouldn't be just taking your word for it. I'd break in anyway to check!

I have never seen the point in those signs, it may as well say “I am a tradesperson and there maybe tools / materials in this van”
I have seen many videos recently online of vans getting done during the day, especially when the tradesperson is working in a property and the van is outside. Videos are recorded on the homeowners cctv.

My van has no sign writing / stickers, the back doors don’t have windows and I have a metal bulkhead, I also don’t leave anything trade related on the front seat or dashboard.
I’m not saying it will never be robbed but I don’t advertise that I have tools in the van.

Gave up on a van years ago after I lost everything twice. I now use a two door fiesta the back windows are blacked out with the darkest tint I could get.
If stacked properly you can get a huge amount of tools into a Fiesta. I had the back suspension upgraded to take the weight.

Surely you're not changing that Hiace I talked you into buying over 10 years ago?

Many years ago when I lived in Brighton I used an estate car for work, I took the tools and drill indoors at night, there was pipe and fittings left in the car but it never got robbed.
My boss at the time wanted me to use his van for some reason, it was newish, sign written and had personal plates, it got broken into on the first night outside my house.
My tools were indoors but the van door and lock needed repair.
