I'm still upset by a Calippo incident way back as a child, when having spent my hard earned pocket money on one of the frozen orange ********, it was so frozen that it needed I had to give it a firm squeeze to try and get it to pop itself out of its wizards sleeve like tube, instead the whole sugary shaft flew forth leaping from its haven and landed on the pavement. It's fair to say I was devastated.

Zooms used to be the absolute tits. I assume they’ve been discontinued because I haven’t seen one in about 20 years.

And no, don’t try peddling your basic rocket ice lollies on me. The Zoom had LAYERS and the banana layer was an absolute delight of frozen sugary ambrosia (the food of the gods, not the custard).

Frankly, without Zooms the conversation is academic.

Mini-Exile has got me into Japanese mochi. Little discs of very creamy ice cream in a coating of fruit or, in one very nice case purple potato. Aldi do them, as do Tesco and I'm sure others.

Failing that I'd take a Biscoff ice cream.
