Calde is an absolute hero and scored many crucial goals for us this season.

Phone call for Gus "Hi Mr Poyet, would you like to sell your top scoring defender to any other club in this division for peanuts?". Gus, "let me think about it................ Erm, NO!" Slams phone down!

Cant see him moving at all, he is very happy down here. My mums cousin is actually friends with Inigo (walk their dogs together, has been in the players lounge a fair bit with him too), so ill try and ask.

Also, if Greer did happen to go, Inigo would surely stay simply because its very, very likely he would be made captain.

Calde is a squad player, therefore would not be considered for captain

Also, lets not forget Gus' extremely positive comments about Calde's professionalism and influence. To my mind he's not only a great player but a massive influence in the squad and is vital to us keeping Vicente.

I love Calde and genuinely think we're a better side with him in it. Part-time skipper, full-time legend.

Calderon is a very important person behind the scenes, he is captain when Greer isn't around for a reason. We would not sell Calderon willingly, he is capable on the pitch and offers a lot behind the scenes. Also, I see him occaisonally when out running, often in a Brighton shirt and he always gives me a thumbs up (alright, after I had told him he is the best right back I have ever seen at the club). Top bloke, future manager.

Anywhere that he can get more money than us and he'll go, it happened with Southampton, he left us and thought he could get more money at Saints and in reality he couldn't and they turned down the wages he wanted, so he came back to us.

Yep, in the second half of the season he was superb. Was already playing well the second time Reyes came back and was unlucky to lose his place imo, but never looked like losing it again once he came back into the team.

He has goals in him too which not a lot of our attacking players do.

Calde

Fixed.

love Calde and be amazed if we bring in 2 RBs and sell him..... amazed and sad. Not the best right back in the league but very solid and very good attacking

i really rate calderon

however if the price was right, say 750k and we had reyes lined up, who for me is better, younger and has a track record of getting out of this division i would do the deal

As a season ticket holder in the west lower I have witnessed first hand how much of a better player Calderon is than Reyes, for me Reyes is too sloppy in possession and doesn't make the runs Calderon has although I wouldn't rule out signing Reyes I just feel that loosing Calderon is something we can not afford we wouldn't of had half the chances we had if Reyes was played more.

And a track record of rash challenges and red cards.

Am big fan of Calde and would hate to see him go, he runs his socks off, scores goals, defends well and can play in center and is a superb capt when needed to stand in...and off course is Vicente's interpretor.
